We often see here on Caution, someone making a post with something along the lines of "I hope this doesn't get me banned!" to which staff sometimes worry that the wrong message is going across on the board. Banning is something taken very seriously here on Caution, and not something that will happen to you just for any little rule being broken. Many rules that are broken on Caution are small things, that can easily be fixed with a friendly PM or a warning of some sort. Links being posted somewhere, something being said out of line, or various other common mistakes, all of this can be easily fixed, and won't be means for a ban. We handle a lot on a daily basis, and things like this are the most common. If we banned everyone on the site who broke a simple rule, there'd be a huge ban list. Now, what will cause a ban is more serious instances, or people who continuously break rules and disregard warnings from staff. We want Caution to remain a safe environment for all members, and people who put that safety and sense of security at risk are the ones who will find themselves banned. Excessive instances of theft, excessive harassment and inappropriate conduct, threats against other members or something that comes across, to us as staff, as being an unsafe situation, will be grounds for banning. There are more, in detailed issues, on both sides, that are put into consideration, but pelase realize that you won't be banned simply because you weren't sure where to post something, or if you think you are asking something you shouldn't. Staff are always here to help, and we don't look at everyone as potential victims of being banned.
