With Guests Eureka Valley Charolais & Bronyx Angus 10th Annual Bull Sale

Tuesday, March 24th, 2PM AT THE FARM, CHAUVIN, AB

Welcome to the 10 th Annual Bull Sale! We’re pleased to have Bronyx Angus join us again this year, and welcome Eureka Valley Charolais.

As always, we extend a huge thank you to our customers for the continued support and confidence in our breeding program.

A big thank you also goes to the friends and neighbours who len d a hand with set up and the hospitality corner, with a special mention to Aaron, who comes out whenever needed and jumps into whatever project we’re working on.

We pride ourselves on offering the quietest pen of 2 year old bulls around. This is not accidental – we cull as hard on disposition as we do on structural correctness and then follow up with hours spent in the pens. We still feed by hand and spend time walking through the bulls that will be offered for sale and the heifers that we develop as replacem ents.

As summer 2025 was very dry here, we supplemented the bulls wit h hay, preferring to leave them out in their pasture, rather than bringing them into the c orral. We feel that the extra exercise that they get is pivotal to their longevity.

Visitors are always welcome in the weeks leading up to our sale, please give us a call if you’d like to preview the bulls before sale day.

Please mark the date on the calendar and be our guest on Tuesda y, March 24 at 12:30 for lunch, and then the sale at 2. If you would like an independent assessment of the bulls, Andrew, Garren or Jesse can help provide some direction.

For anyone unable to join us in person, you may also bid by pho ne with any of the sale day contacts, or on DLMS.

GAME DAY SONS GAME DAY SONS

Game Day has become a cornerstone sire here. Over the years, he has sired females that are quickly becoming front pasture type cows and the demand for bulls sired by him isn’t slowing down. We are now seeing some of his sons become highly sought after because he stamps them so consistently. His outstanding genetic combination has a place in both purebred and commercial herds.

The Game Day sons in this year’s sale are a very strong group, out of some of our top-end cows. His hair coat, muscle pattern, foot structure and length of spine will set them apart but the docility that he passes on will ensure that they come up for a scratch when you’re in the pen. Because of this consistency, we felt like we were repeating ourselves in trying to write individual footnotes for these boys.

We selected King Maker at Wilgenbusch’s 2023 sale and have been very impressed with him. He is an easy fleshing, docile bull with an impeccable foot structure. King Maker is coowned with Legacy Charolais and each year, naturally breeds approximately 60 cows. He regains his condition easily and just never misses a beat.

Gallagher has also become a mainstay in our breeding program. Originally purchased to add some frame back into the herd, his sons are in demand for the length of spine and consistently flawless foot structure that he passes on. We have retained several daughters over the years and they have proven to be excellent mothers with ideal udders and have become the young dams of choice to cross with Game Day. He is a very efficient breeder who basically loads himself in the trailer once his season is done. As with the other sire groups, we felt that the consistency of the Gallagher sons was such that we were repeating ourselves with individual footnotes. This group of bulls is easy to pick out of the pen but really hard to pick apart when you consider the overall correctness of them, coupled with the impeccable foot structure that have become the hallmark of our Gallagher progeny. The 2026 offering will be the last of the Gallagher sons.

We would like to thank John and Kirsten and the rest of the Taylor family for inviting us and allowing us to be part of their sale.

Some may not know the Eureka Valley name, but we have been apart of the Charolais breed for close to 10 years now. It was started in Joffre Alberta, 10 miles east of Red Deer when we purchased our first female from Barry Reese and Reese Cattle Co. We worked extensively with Barry until his dispersal in 2022. Wyatt also moved to Wainwright in 2022 with his cows, and Jenna’s family was gracious enough to give them a home.

Genetics and genetic potential are a major driver for us, and we are always trying to improve on those traits. All these bulls have been 100K tested to enhance there EPD’s and give the buyer the best possible information that we can. These bulls have also been tested through Neogen and their genetic potential test to help those that are testing their females compare apples to apples. These bulls are prepared for both the seedstock and commercial world. As commercial breeders ourselves we want the best product for our customers to make su re these animals bring the best ROI possible.

We would like to thank our customers from previous years at the Prairie Lands Bull sale and the Reese Cattle Co sale. We look forward to a new chapter in our l ife and business.

If you are interested at looking at the boys prior to sale day, coffee is always on, please feel free to reach out to Wyatt or Jenna at any time. Or if you would like a third-party reference please feel free to reach out to Lane Purdie and he will help you the best he can.

Homo Polled | PA-Free | Parent Verified Nigel is a house favorite around here. He has been dog quite since day one. If you want a bull that you can go up to and give a little love to this is your guy. A calving ease package he ranks in the top 10% for calving ease, as well he ranks in the top 4% for birthweight. If you are an EPD person, this bull carriers a lot of positives in that department. He also carries a homo-polled package as well. His sire we sold last spring to Steve Saruga of Alliance AB.

A little bit of a throw back here. Wyoming Wind was born in 1994, over thirty years ago. I think he brings a lot of positives to the industry. Nordic is big and stout with a lot of hair and a nice clean front end to him. He would also be a very good calving ease option as well. He ranks in the top 10% for calving ease, and the top 4% for birth weight. We also took him to the Alberta Charolais Association bull show, so he is halter broke as well.

There is a lot of performance in this bull. If you are looking for an individual that can add pounds to your calf crop this would be a bull that I would recommend. He ranks in the top 10% for both weaning weight and yearling weight. He carries himself very well, big foot, big hip, just an individual that bred to commercial cows should help you make some market toping steers, or heifers.

A sire that needs no introduction in these neck of the woods. Nickel Back in my opinion brings all the positive aspects that a Game Day calf should have. Big, stout, quiet, just an all-around bull that will bring your program up and build market setting steers come sale time. His dam is a Y cow, so you know there is a lot of longevity in these animals. Being able to stick around that long and be able to keep raising a calf is very impressive.

Hetero Polled | PA-Free | Parent Verified

My old tried and true Reese cow has done it again giving us a bull calf that works in a lot of markets. An outcross to a lot of red genetics and a March 3rd calf that is working his way up and becoming better every day. A bull that has been keen on building muscle and strength throughout his body. A sleeper in my mind just because of his age. Throw him on any colour of cow and you are going to get a calf to be proud of.

When we made our way down to the Alberta Select Bull show this winter, I did not even pack a show stick because I thought it was going to be a great way to get our name out and meet some other great Charolais breeders from within the province. Lone and behold was I proven wrong. 81N was crowned the reserve champion junior bull and made it to the final four bulls within the show. It was a great surprise and now as this bull becomes older, he just keeps getting better. Just a February 20th calf with an adjWW of 912lbs and an adjYW of 1478lbs. He backs it up on his EPD numbers with a weaning weight in the top 25% and a yearling weight in the top 25%. And he is quite as a kitten to boot. The total package and one of the best animals we have ever raised here.

A bull that puts a lot of things together smooth shouldered, clean fronted, big foot. A calving ease bull that can get out and breed some younger animals for you. Ranking in the top 15% for both calving ease and birthweight to me this would be as close as we have for a sleep easy bull. He also ranks in the top 1% for milk so if you are some one that likes making Charolais cross females and want a little more milk within them this would be a great opinion for you.

Even though this bull is horned he brings a lot of good assets to the table. Cleaned sheathed, big topped, clean lines just a good all-around bull. If you are someone with a strong angus-based herd this would be the perfect bull for you. Another late February calf with a weaning weight of 789lbs and a yearling weight of 1240 so a lot of that horned performance coming into play and being a very good commercial producer option. 44

Another outcross for the red genetics world. A stout bull that keeps growing and becoming better by the day. These bulls have been slowly putting on the pounds every day. We sold a half brother to Neil Glover a few years ago, and he throughs a lot of cherry and dark red calves on his red commercial cows, so I believe that this bull will follow suit. If a customer is requiring dilutor testing for this bull that can be done just let us know. PMC899304

This bull has been a real delight to have around and raise. He is a bull that has been standout since they came home this fall. A late February bull that indexes and ratios good. His EPD profile also really brings him up as well. He tops the EPD chart being in the green for everything but two traits that is good in my opinion. I think he is going to be the sleeper in the pen. Once you get him home and start breeding cows, I think you are going to be very impressed with your investment.

If you are a producer that calves later in the year May/ June calving this bull is going to be the perfect size to get those cows bred up for you. He also packs a little punch with some french genetics in the background so these commercial calves going to have awesome weaning weights to hopefully top the market for you.

I am always impressed by these genetics. This bull’s half-brother came last year and blew us all away with the amount of performance he had the 2025 model was gaining close to 4.5lbs/day and the 2026 model is creeping up close to that same standard. He is gaining close to 3.5lbs/day and keeps growing and getting better. This bull is going to help your bottom line and if you are interested in backgrounding calves to get more pounds onto them this would be the bull to pick up.

Welcome from BRONYX ANGUS

Hello & Welcome to the 10th Annual Poplar Bluff Stock Farm & Guests Bull Sale. We would like to thank Poplar Bluff for having us back again & welcome Eureka Valley to the sale. It’s an exciting time to be in the cattle business & the friendships we’ve made over the years are what this is all about. It drives us to raise the absolute best product we can.

We expect a lot from our cows – no babysitting and no excuses or they do not stay. We have a checklist that a cow needs to meet in order to stick around. The dams that are pictured in the sale catalog will give you a good idea of the type of cow we like – cows that are consistent producing at the top end of the whole herd - maximizing return with no or very little help during calving.

The bulls on offer are good honest ranch bulls that have been developed with longevity in mind. We feel these beef bulls are the type of cattle that will satisfy the needs of the cow-calf producer, feedlot & packer, while also siring top end uniform replacement heifers. The bulls are currently on a daily TMR ration that consists of silage, hay & a 14% beef pellet @ 7 lbs per day.

If you have any questions or requests, we are more than happy t o help. We stand behind our cattle which are raised to work & we look forward to working with you on sale day & in the future. Please don’t hesitate to come see the cattle at the farm prior to the sale.

Sincerely, Owen & Bryce Mawbey

Bronyx Angus

Note:

- The weaning weights of the coming 2 yr old bulls were taken on November 20th, 2024.

- We reserve the right to collect in herd use semen on the bulls sold, at the buyers convenience and our expense.

Sheriff has done an excellent job for us. He’s a bull that strides effortless & free. As a yearling Sheriff bred 31 of 34 cows in the first cycle. The bulls & heifers are very uniform, sound, docile, with good hair coats & structure. Sheriff’s dam 6060D has produced multiple herd bulls who are known to have excellent feet.
