015 has been eventful and fruitful for the CJC Symphonic Band (CJCSB) with a few highlights. Prior to the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation for Concert Bands, CJCSB had a band exchange with other colleges. On 30 April, we performed “Singapura Suite Movement 2” and a choice piece “And The Multitude With One Voice Spoke” for SYF. Our efforts paid off as we clinched the Certificate of Distinction under the baton of our conductor, Mr Tan Thiam Hee.

On 28 June, CJCSB had a combined concert, organised by the Kim Seng Wind Symphony to commemorate SG50, which served as a platform to prepare ourselves for CJCelebrates. CJCSB delivered our SYF choice piece and “Highlights from Spirited Away” during CJCelebrates. The night officially ended with the performing arts groups delivering “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

All this would not have been possible without Mr Ignatius Goh, Mr Jason Kam, Ms Josephine Lin, Ms Wendy Heng and Mr Tan Thiam Hee. Their unwavering support and guidance were crucial in encouraging us to perform our best. Finally, the 2014-2015 EXCO members have also done well in leading the band and we sincerely wish them all the best for their future endeavours.
