MY DEAR FRIENDS I N C H R I S T— This time of year, we count our blessings and reflect on the good that God has made possible in our lives. We encounter a renewed spirit of love and generosity, especially toward our neighbors in need. For 70 years, Catholic Charities West Michigan has helped the Catholic Church provide essential support to our brothers and sisters; an outreach that is not possible without you.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kelli Smith, Chair Paul Kuiper, Vice Chair Mike Brown, Treasurer Joan Bowersox, Secretary Fr. Matthew Barnum
Throughout our 11 counties in West Michigan, over 35 programs feed the hunger not only for food, but for love, peace, safety, and unity. Through God’s Kitchen food and pantry programs, adoption and foster care, counseling, and family preservation and support programs, many hungers are fed! Last year alone, more than 21,000 people were served through your generosity.

Jesus reminds us, “… love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these (Mark 12:31).”

We are called to respond joyfully to Christ’s presence—to walk a path of authentic love— in all we do. For our words must be accompanied by action or they fall flat.

“I’ve been struggling with homelessness for a few years and God’s Kitchen has been a place to come for a warm meal with friends. Food is expensive and I can’t always afford to feed myself, so I just feed my kids and come here for me.” —MANDY
A HUNGER FOR SUPPORT
HELP FEED THE HUNGERS WE ALL SHARE At Catholic Charities, we know that we are never far from a neighbor who needs our love — the poor and needy, the hungry and homeless, people who are sick, struggling with addiction, in need of counseling, and others who are marginalized by society. This is why Pope Francis referred to Catholic Charities as “the engine of the Church that organizes love.” When you give to CCWM, you are serving those who are most in need and truly changing lives for the better. Last year alone, we provided more than 150,000 meals to the hungry, solutionbased & family preservation programs to 2,100 families, and looked after 300 children in foster care, on a daily basis. Your tax deductible gift helps give us the opportunity to feed their hungers and provide them with a chance for a brighter future.
WHY I GIVE...
“I give because Catholic Charities West Michigan is a Christ-centered provider of compassionate and competent services that helps and inspires hope in individuals, families, and communities. CCWM has historically demonstrated the ability to reach and serve those with the most need.” Kelli Smith
“My wife, Molly, and I give because we have witnessed the tireless, and often thankless, hands-on work that CCWM does on a daily basis to serve those who have been left out. We have also been enriched by the many opportunities from them, to assist in showing the poor and marginalized in this community that no one is excluded from God’s love or from our care. ” Brad Fowler
“I give because it allows me to play a small role in the larger mission of CCWM, creating hope, serving the underserved, and empowering individuals and families to succeed. Being a part fulfills a desire to give back to our local community, show love through action, and support an organization whose mission aligns with my values.” Catherine Cooley
“ Bien, gracias a Dios. A veces uno se queda sin dinero por los pagos de la casa y es difícil proveer comida y ropa. Por eso venimos a la baby pantry.” (Good, thanks to God. Sometimes, we are left without money due to housing bills and it is difficult to provide food and clothes. That’s why I come to the baby pantry.) —MARIA
