Sunday, July 28th, 5pm–10pm • OSD Event • Every year, La Recepción del Presidente unofficially kicks off Fiesta week. A wonderful evening in the beautiful outdoor Plaza del Sol at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort, this event brings together Fiesta history with the excitement of the Fiesta to come. Guests are warmly greeted by the official receiving line of La Presidenta Barbara Carroll and her family, as well as her Fiesta family including the Spirits, Saint Barbara, and Vice Presidentes. The evening includes guests in their finest Fiesta attire, a tasty Mexican buffet, entertainment by talented artists including the performances by the 2019 Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta. The traditional small fiesta, La Fiesta Pequeña, will open Old Spanish Days festivities on Wednesday, July 31st, at 8pm on the steps of the Old Mission. The illuminated steps of the historic Old Mission serve as center stage for a program of traditional song and lively dance performances by the Spirit of Fiesta, the Junior Spirit, and many other dance groups. The program is a balance of Spanish-influenced dances, Mexican and Latin Folkloric dances, with Flamenco added to round it up.

��������������������������������������������������� 10am • OSD Event • Free • Held on the second day of Fiesta in the morning, the Saint Barbara Parish invites those of all faiths to enjoy High Mass in the main church of Old Mission Santa Barbara. La Misa is held in honor of La Presidenta and the Old Spanish Days Board, celebrating both the longstanding relationship between the Old Mission and Old Spanish Days as well as the entire Fiesta community. This Roman Catholic Mass dates back to the first day of Fiesta in 1936 and today is followed by a festive reception in the

Los escalones iluminados de la histórica Misión sirven como centro de un programa de canciones tradicionales y presentaciones de baile animadas por la Espíritu de Fiesta, la Espíritu Infantil de Fiesta y muchos otros grupos de danza. It is host during the day to Fiesta’s battle of the bands competition where aspiring new talent come to play. At night and all day Saturday the Cantina turns into a beer garden with entertainment from the top area bands. After 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday and after 4pm on Saturday the Cantina is a 21+ only event - ID required.

Part of the annual Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebration, locals and visitors alike are invited to relax, sip a cold drink, and celebrate at the home of Fiesta! Held at Casa de la Guerra, 15 E De la Guerra St. General Admission fee required, free admission for SBTHP members. For info call 805-965-0093. This is a 21+ event - ID required.

8pm • OSD Event • Free • Dance / Music • As the August sun slowly sets behind the “Queen of the Missions,” experience the Franciscans hospitality as they welcome all to enjoy the official opening of Old Spanish Days Fiesta at this beautiful setting as they have since 1927. La Fiesta Pequeña, “Little Fiesta,” is a colorful, historical program which includes traditional songs and dance from Californios Spirit. Blankets, chairs or any other items left to reserve seating at Fiesta Pequena will not be allowed until 6am on Wednesday, the morning of the show. Any items before this time will be removed and confiscated by the City Parks Department.

Witness some of the greatest riders in the world when the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) event takes over Earl Warren Showgrounds arena on Thursday, August 1st at 7:30pm. Fans will witness as PBR’s cowboys risk it all against animal athletes that can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds. Sé testigo de algunos de los mejores jinetes del mundo cuando el evento Jinetes de toros profesionales (PBR, por sus siglas en inglés) se realize en Earl Warren Showgrounds el jueves, 1 de agosto a las 7:30pm. 8pm • OSD Event • Free • Dance / Music • Las Noches de Ronda, “Nights of Gaiety” is held in the Sunken Gardens of the beautiful Santa Barbara County Courthouse. The evening performances feature spectacular dances and songs from the fire of flamenco to the charm of Mexican folklórico dances. Over 200 performers entertain nightly and donate their time to this wonderful event. Blankets and chairs can be set up no earlier than 9am on the day of the event - please note that anything of plastic or nylon material will be removed. Catch MTD’s lines 2, 6, 11 and 20.
