Welcome We welcome you to the FairView Angus Ranch 2016 sale offering. My dad taught me at a young age, that a rancher needs to use his cow herd to manage grass. It is our objective here at FairView Angus Ranch to identify genetic lines that create efficient cattle that will thrive in any grassland environment. We believe feed efficiency is huge, and strive to identify bulls and heifers that convert forage into pounds more quickly than their contemporaries. To us the females within a herd on any operation are the most valuable asset. It all starts with the mother cow: fertility, maternal traits, structural soundness, and natural fleshing ability, which are best analyzed thru the eyes of a stockman. The right kind of problem free, profitable cattle never go out of style. We strive to produce bulls that will compliment good females and produce male offspring with added muscle, length, and capacity on a sensible frame. For these reasons we have selected sires for our breeding program with a production history behind them. It is our goal here at FairView to produce quality, functional, time tested genetics that will keep you the producer profitable. The FairView breeding program has become successful due to customer confidence and support placed with us. With that comes a responsibility and commitment from us to produce genetics that will positively enhance the traits that effect your profitability. A TALE OF TWO BULLS
I
n the late fall of 1962 Gothold Reich, Greenvale Angus and Bill Moltzan, MG Angus discovered a glory hole filled with Black Gold near the central Alberta town of Delia. The breeders had traveled from Bashaw to Delia to see the progeny of Allendale Eston Annona 2 at Jim Thompson’s Link Lake Angus . Moltzan would select the Annona 2 son, Linkmere Eston 6T out of an Errolline cow who was an own daughter of Cassie of Milo 11. At the recommendation of Thompson the two breeders would head just down the road to the Sverdahl family farm to check out another son of Annona 2 that was sold in dam. This time Gothold Reich would purchase Abangomere Eston from Richard Sverdahl and his father. Abangomere Eston had the Errolline family twice in his pedigree and was a great grandson of Cassie of Milo 11. The maternal legacy of Cassie of Milo 11 would build in the ensuing years with Agribition, National Western and International champions. The great Cross Country sale would feature many of Cassie’s decendants from herds around Alberta. Cassie was bred in the John Bartch’s Aljon herd of Milo, Alberta. The Errollines include the Cassie and Beaulah cow families. Lee Leachman of Ankony praised Cassie of Milo 11 as one of the great matrons of the Angus breed. There is little doubt that Cassie’s maternal influence deserves a great deal of the credit for the incredible breeding contributions of these two Eston bulls. Perhaps a more fitting lead for this page might have been Leagues of Great Angus Bulls. Abangomere Eston and Linkmere Eston 6T would not only have profound impacts upon the herds where they were used but sons, grandsons and great grandsons would be used very sucessfully around North America and the World. When you study the pedigree of Eston of Lookout 83Z you will be amazed to the degree that he is linebred to these two bulls and to the Errolline cows. With this kind of generational strength and depth of breeding, Eston of Lookout 83Z may represent a modern day glory hole.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE AS AN ABSENTEE BUYER We have made preparations to bid and buy livestock through Superior Productions’ “Call or Click-To-Bid” service for those unable to attend in person on sale day. Please note that all of the lots in the sale will also be available for viewing online prior to sale day at www.superiorlivestock.com.

Turn in Bids Over the Phone. This is our traditional method of buying livestock and is the suggested process for anyone who does not have consistent, high-speed internet. Select the registration form for Superior Productions and print the registration form. Fill it out and fax it in to Superior Productions at (817) 378-3380 with a signature on it, or scan and email the form to info@ superiorauction.com.You can also mail it in to the address provided on the form. Upon receipt of this information Superior will call you with a buyer’s number and the bid line phone number that you will use on sale day to place bids over the phone. Click-To-Bid. This is Superior’s online bidding program for cattle buying. Please note that high speed internet is required – this is not for dial-up or satellite internet. Registration is free, but you must become a member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to sign up. Becoming a member is easy – just go to the homepage of www.superiorclicktobid.com and follow the out-lined steps to get started. Input your information and select a username and password. You will receive an e-mail confirming you are a member. A TALE OF TWO BULLS
I
n the late fall of 1962 Gothold Reich, Greenvale Angus and Bill Moltzan, MG Angus discovered a glory hole filled with Black Gold near the central Alberta town of Delia. The breeders had traveled from Bashaw to Delia to see the progeny of Allendale Eston Annona 2 at Jim Thompson’s Link Lake Angus . Moltzan would select the Annona 2 son, Linkmere Eston 6T out of an Errolline cow who was an own daughter of Cassie of Milo 11. At the recommendation of Thompson the two breeders would head just down the road to the Sverdahl family farm to check out another son of Annona 2 that was sold in dam. This time Gothold Reich would purchase Abangomere Eston from Richard Sverdahl and his father. Abangomere Eston had the Errolline family twice in his pedigree and was a great grandson of Cassie of Milo 11. The maternal legacy of Cassie of Milo 11 would build in the ensuing years with Agribition, National Western and International champions. The great Cross Country sale would feature many of Cassie’s decendants from herds around Alberta. Cassie was bred in the John Bartch’s Aljon herd of Milo, Alberta. The Errollines include the Cassie and Beaulah cow families. Lee Leachman of Ankony praised Cassie of Milo 11 as one of the great matrons of the Angus breed. There is little doubt that Cassie’s maternal influence deserves a great deal of the credit for the incredible breeding contributions of these two Eston bulls. Perhaps a more fitting lead for this page might have been Leagues of Great Angus Bulls. Abangomere Eston and Linkmere Eston 6T would not only have profound impacts upon the herds where they were used but sons, grandsons and great grandsons would be used very sucessfully around North America and the World. When you study the pedigree of Eston of Lookout 83Z you will be amazed to the degree that he is linebred to these two bulls and to the Errolline cows. With this kind of generational strength and depth of breeding, Eston of Lookout 83Z may represent a modern day glory hole.
