Teeth Whitening Your smile is your greatest asset or biggest liability.
Like it or not, we are all judged on our appearance. That’s why it’s so important that you put your best smile forward with a dazzling smile and pearly white teeth. Have a quick look at the teeth whitening services offered by your dentist, Dr Cary Fraser.
BEWARE OF TEETH BLEACHING KIOSKS I feel compelled to warn you that many beauty technicians are carrying out potentially dangerous teeth whitening treatments without proper training. Those non-licensed vendors in shopping malls, tanning salons, chemists and beauty parlours sway misinformed consumers into believing that teeth whitening presents no real danger... The loophole that allows shopping mall kiosks, beauty and tanning salons to offer teeth whitening is that since employees do not place the product in the patient’s mouth, they require that patients insert the bleaching product themselves to circumvent the dental profession’s strict standards for dental care. In other words, if anything goes wrong – IT’S YOUR FAULT! What you may not know is that teeth whitening/bleaching agents used by many of those facilities consists of higher (often DANGEROUS!) strength chemicals that are not considered as a safe dose by experienced cosmetic dentists held to a much higher level of safety and patient care. Bleaching agents used inside of kiosks or salons can cause permanent damage or corrosion to teeth that is often IRREVERSIBLE. I have written a special report published to alert you to those little-known dangers, make you aware of safer teeth whitening solutions and help you make an informed decision when seeking teeth whitening services.

TEETH WHITENING ENHANCES YOUR SMILE Your smile is a big part of the image you reflect- It’s noticed before you even speak a word. If your teeth are stained or yellowed with age, then they may have a negative impact on people around you and you may not realise it. Advances in cosmetic dentistry have made it possible to offer several teeth whitening treatments. Chairside whitening treatments can be completed in a matter of hours or over a several week period, depending on the type of whitening solution and technique is best for you. Whitening appointments are commonly scheduled one week apart and continue until the desired level of whiteness is reached. A single treatment lasts between half an hour to an hour.
Because I’m in sales, I know how I look makes a difference. This at least helps mask the fact that I’m a smoker, which in today’s anti-smoking
environment means I make more sales.

The best part is the teeth whitening process is quick and totally pain free. I may recommend an at-home whitening solution. This type of treatment involves wearing a custom fitted plastic tray I will design for you. Care is taken in creating the tray to ensure the whitening material stays in contact with tooth surfaces being treated. The custom tray is made of clear plastic, so you can wear it comfortably. The duration of each whitening treatment and how long you continue at-home treatments will vary according to the results you wish to achieve. Since I will be monitoring your progress, you can rest assured you are in safe hands. The result from either treatment option is a bright, white smile that helps you project an image of youthful vitality. Whiter teeth create a more youthful appearance by brightening your entire face. People may notice something has changed about you... they’re just not sure what it is!

Amalgam Removal Should You Replace the Silver & Mercury Fillings in Your Mouth?
Did you know that amalgam fillings are made from a silver, tin or copper alloy that is mixed with the toxic metal mercury? Mainstream dentistry, that has been using amalgam fillings for over 150 years, says amalgam is “a hard, stable and safe substance.”
TOTALLY HARMLESS…I disagree. That’s why I feel compelled to share with you my own personal findings and latest research on the subject so that you can draw your own conclusions… Evidence on the risks of amalgam mercury silver fillings is mixed… I’m not the first, nor the only one revealing this as a ‘new discovery.’ On the Call us to get your one hand, ‘regulators’ say that the low levels of mercury vapour emitted by fillings FREE copy of this report. are not harmful to most people and, on the other hand, they also admit that there is no conclusive evidence that it is harmless.
A gray area? I can tell you this. When it comes to my own, my family and my patients’ health I want everything as close to black and white as possible. What troubles me is that many experts, scientists and ‘unbiased’ advocacy groups have raised questions about the health risks of silver fillings for pregnant women, foetuses and young children…they warn that amalgam, in high doses, is linked to neurological disorders, heart problems and birth defects.
My own personal research reveals that chronic exposure to mercury can cause kidney damage, multiple sclerosis, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurological effects including memory loss, irritability and nervousness. Mercury also can leak from silver fillings directly into the bloodstream and gum tissues, causing periodontal gum disease.
Weighing the risks Most people don’t know that silver dental fillings contain approximately 50% mercury by weight. If you have several silver fillings in your mouth then I think it’s something to be concerned about.
www.BayDentalOrthodontics.com.au 7 Dr Cary FraseR
While more research is pending, I’ve been keeping my finger on the latest research and I’m convinced that mercury slowly leaks out of fillings over time. One solution is to replace ALL mercury fillings at least every 10 years before the metal starts eroding and leaking into the body. So why not remove them altogether? What’s interesting is that when it comes to toxic metals, like mercury, your body will do anything to push it out of your system through your liver, kidneys and skin. So your organs are potentially at risk.
Amalgam fillings are
Testing for mercury toxicity is not that simple…Acute mercury toxicity can be identified with a simple blood test but because mercury is mainly concentrated in the tissues, identifying its effects is not that simple.
one of the easiest ways to remove harmful toxins from your body - I
encourage it for all my patients.
Dr Cary Fraser
Mercury never sleeps! Of course, many dentists argue that mercury fillings cannot be ‘activated’ or don’t ‘leak out’ and thus they are harmless and pose no risk. Once again, I disagree… Think about it this way – + Every time you brush your teeth you could be causing mercury to leak out. Electric tooth brushing makes it even worse as it heats up your teeth and fillings far more intensely than manual brushing does. + Grinding your teeth in your sleep can have the same ‘mercury reviving’ effect. + Drinking hot beverages could heat up and ‘activate’ those silver fillings and could cause mercury droplets to start vaporising. + Eating acidic foods like oranges can cause mercury in fillings to break down and release. + Chewing gum has been shown to release mercury vapours from silver fillings by breaking down the amalgam in the dental fillings. As you can see there is support for the belief that mercury fillings are not totally harmless. Especially since mercury is cytotoxic (kills cells), neurotoxic (kills brain and nerve cells) and nephrotoxic (toxic to kidneys). Mercury also lowers sperm counts, disturbs menstrual cycles and can cause a reduction in IQ. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), dental amalgam emits mercury 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Orthodontics “Invisible and Traditional Braces
Dental braces are a type of orthodontic treatment used to correct teeth that are crowded, crooked, protruding, out of alignment or have irregular spacing. By moving the teeth into the ideal position, dental braces help to create a more attractive and healthier smile for both children and adults. During your first orthodontic visit, several methods may be used to develop an individualized treatment plan, including: + Oral, facial and functional evaluation (examination). + Intraoral and facial photographs. + Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays. + Impressions for models of the teeth and bite. The results of this evaluation are studied in order to formulate the best orthodontic treatment plan. Typically during the second visit, your treatment plan will be reviewed giving you an estimate of the number of months the active phase of your treatment will take. The standard treatment phase is 1-2 years. There are many types of braces from clear to metal, invisible inside braces, or invisible braces like invisalign or clearstep. The benefits, disadvantages and cost are all discussed before proceeding, so please schedule a time to come and discuss your needs with us, the sooner we get started, the better.

Dr Cary Fraser 12 Personal Profile & Corporate Overview
A holistic approach to dentistry
Cary sees his role as a physician... that has a tremendous influence on his patient care philosophy, work and approach to his profession. His love of holistic approaches started in his early teens when his mother looked to holistic alternatives instead of drugs to deal with his health problems. Like mother like son... and a ‘holistic’ seed was planted in the young lad’s mind. Several decades later Cary keeps looking for holistic ways and approaches to heal pain and improve his patients’ wellbeing. His deeply ingrained desire to go natural has motivated him to learn modern orthodontics. That gives him a tremendous edge over his peers that practice only traditional dentistry. As a holistic dentist, Cary looks at the whole body and not just the teeth or mouth. Understanding he can help people in a lot of different ways, he investigates, analyses and assesses different treatment paths for each patient to maximise his/her health and wellbeing. Cary is one of the few dentists to realise that drilling and filling is not the only way to promote dental health, confidence and wellbeing in patients. Often, patients come to see Cary with shoulder pains, headaches and jaw problems because they’ve come to know that Cary looks outside the (dental) box so-to-speak and can help heal them. Sometimes referring the patient onto a qualified osteopath or other health professional is the best option. That’s why Cary has formed special alliances with other doctors and holistic and natural health care professionals that he trusts enough to send his own family to. As Cary’s patient, you get the benefit of sound, proven advice to encourage more favourable bone growth that should result in a healthier and more attractive mouth later in life. If you want a dentist who cares about you as a person who will treat you with a natural and holistic approach, you’re in great hands with Dr Cary Fraser.
