INTRODUCTION TO EARLY YEARS, EDUCATION AND CARE CERTIFICATE LEVEL 2 FF2BCHI7L0 | ONE YEAR COURSE OVERVIEW

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This qualification will prepare you to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years. Upon achievement of this qualification, you can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors, such as nursery assistant or pre-school assistant or study for a higher qualification.

You will need to complete evidence for each unit using a range of assessment methods including written tasks, observation, professional discussion and work placement assessments.

WHAT WILL I LEARN

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above. A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required.

The qualification has 14 units around four themes: • Play • Legislation • Introducing the role of early year practitioner • Professional practice • Work placement in a pre-school or nursery

CHILDCARE

TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE IN CHILDCARE AND EDUCATION LEVEL 3 FF3BCHI1L0 | TWO YEARS COURSE OVERVIEW

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This is a two year course, year one is the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education and year two is the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator). Upon achievement of the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education you will be able to access higher education or enter the workforce as an early years’ educator. The Diploma enables you to gain the knowledge and experience which will allow you to work with children from birth to five years.

Learners must also complete an Effective Practice Study and Extended Assessment which are externally set and externally marked.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need five GSCEs including English and Maths at grade 4 or above. A Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will also be required.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? To achieve the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) learners must complete 15 mandatory units. You will also undertake a work placement in a pre-school or nursery.
