• Colour hair

This course is designed for students who have passed Level 2 and for hairdressers in the industry that have a basic working knowledge of hairdressing. Once completed the you will be able to perform more technical services with skilled techniques and have the knowledge to tackle problems.

• Design skills

WHAT WILL I LEARN? The course consists of theory and practical work. You will need to complete eight units covering all aspects of advanced cutting, styling and colouring, including some aspects of colour correction. You will have the opportunity to produce and take part in a catwalk show and competitions. The units include:

• Perm hair • Colour Correction

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? You will work on real clients in the commercial salons. Your theory will be assessed with online tests throughout the course. There will be some home study as well. You will develop customer service and practical skills in the commercial salons at the college.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need a Level 2 in Hairdressing and you will be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the course. This can be supported by reports and references from your previous tutor.

This course provides training in a variety of beauty skills. On successful completion of this course you will have gained a range of beauty skills relevant for employment in the sector. However, there are wider opportunities if you progress to and achieve Level 3, subject to interview and references.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? There are 12 mandatory beauty skills units covered on this course including: • Manicures, pedicures and facials • Lash and brow treatments • Waxing services • Basic make-up • Reception duties

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? You will learn through practical and theory delivery. When you are competent and confident you will be able to carry out treatments on clients in a simulated commercial environment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need three GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at Level 3 or above. You will also be interviewed and must demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the course, supported by school reports and references. Where appropriate, ESOL Level 2 is required and a competent level of English, literacy and numeracy skills.
