The is a one year intensive course for mature learners aged 19+. The Access programme is designed to help you gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to study at degree level on a range of courses including Construction Technology, Site Management and Civil Engineering. On successful completion of this Access course, you will be able to progress to a degree programme or equivalent in a range of Construction or Engineering related subjects including Civil Engineering and Site Management.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? The units cover a wide range of topics, both subject specific and more generic study skills. The subject specific units may include: • Construction Technology • Sustainability and Materials Engineering

• Research Skills • Algebra

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? You will be assessed throughout the course through a combination of presentations, written assignments, exams and reports.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You are expected to be working at Level 2, which is equivalent to a GCSE at grade 4 or above. You will be asked to undertake an initial assessment to demonstrate your competence in English and Maths. The maths content of the course is significant.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need to have successfully completed a Level 3 Certificate in Engineering or two appropriate A Levels. You will also need GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above. All suitable applicants will be required to have a formal interview and complete diagnostic assessments to ensure that you are working at the appropriate level to progress onto a Level 5 qualification.
