HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This course will cover a range of foundation level skills in the construction industry and can lead to employment in the construction industry or a further qualification.

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence built up in both practical workshop sessions and theory lessons.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? You will be introduced to a broad range of trades including painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery, electrical, plastering, plumbing and brickwork. You will also work on your Functional Skills in Maths, English and IT to improve your skills, ready for the next level of study or work.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Ideally you should have some GCSEs at grade 2 or above, but other qualifications may be considered. You will need to be enthusiastic and have some knowledge of the construction industry. You will also attend an interview and assessment.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This Level 2 qualification provides opportunities for you to gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment in the construction sector or move to a more advanced level of study.

You will be assessed through direct observation and externally set theory exams.

WHAT WILL I LEARN? This course will have both theory and practical units. It has a strong theory based element as it is designed for those to want to progress to higher level roles in the industry, and plan to progress to Level 3.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
