HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED

This one year course will increase your site skills in carpentry. If you are successful in this course you can progress onto the Diploma Level 3 or enter the carpentry profession at an intermediate level.

The course requires the completion of practical and theory tasks, unit end tests followed by online exam and practical phase test.

WHAT I WILL LEARN? This one year course will give you good skills in carrying out site carpentry tasks and covers a wide range of units including:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Completion of the Level 1 Diploma along with a good reference from your course tutor and good attendance records.

• Health, safety and welfare in construction • Principles of building, construction, information and communication • Flooring and roofing • Frames, partitions and stairs • Operating carpentry machinery • Safe use of power tools

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This one year advanced course will give you good knowledge of complex site carpentry tasks and an insight into supervisory situations. At the end of it you might start a career in carpentry at an advanced level or enter site management.

The course has ongoing practical assessment, a phase test and online exam at the end of each unit.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Completion of Diplomas 1 and 2, Functional Skills at Level 2 with good references and satisfactory attendance records.
