On Tuesday, November 2, 2010, Haywood County will conduct a General Election for the following offices: Governor, US Representative for the 8th Congressional District and TN State Representative for the 81st House District Haywood County Constable District 2 (only registered voters of District 2/Precinct 2 Parks & Rec are eligible to vote for this office) Petitions for Constable District 2 may be picked up from the Haywood County Election Commission Office on the lower level of the Courthouse in Brownsville during regular business hours Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch 11:30 – 12:30, unless posted otherwise). The deadline to file the qualifying petitions for Constable District 2 is 12 noon on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Constable candidates are also required to file an affidavit provided by the election office, certifying they are at least 21 years old, a qualified voter of the district, able to read and write, have not been convicted of a felony in any federal or state court, and have not been separated or discharged from the armed forces of the United States with other than an honorable discharge.
