Three controllable risk factors are your diet, level of sun exposure, and whether or not you smoke. Uncontrollable factors are your age, gender, and heredity. You can lower your risk of lifestyle diseases, heredity or no, by making healthy choices, exercising regularly, and not doing anything that may agitate a possible problem.
