THE WALK ROUTE 3 km - Roads closed to ensure walker safety from traffic Curb lanes on Queen Street and the entire northbound lanes of University Avenue will be closed off for our Walkers. We will be leaving the Square from the southeast corner, walking along Queen Street to University - up University to College - back down University to Armoury and back in the Square through Armoury entrance. The route is well marked and will be patrolled by Toronto Police to further ensure safety, particularly at crossings.

ON THE SQUARE The "walk" event opens at 8:30 AM. Registration, resource fair, inflatables, face painters, music and fun begins then so come early and enjoy yourselves. Hugs will be plentiful with Geoffrey from Toys"R"Us joining Shrek and Po (Kung Fu Panda) and the Star Wars troupe from 501 Legion - so bring your cameras! Bruce Power Jays on the Road will be testing your batting and throwing skills and we will have slides, bounces and a Sesame Playground for the little ones. Be sure to stop by the Toys"R"Us kids activity tent for some bubbles, crafts, water and sand fun and visit our sponsor tents featuring Spin Master Toys showcasing Moon Sand, Bendaroos, Bakugan and Tech Deck toy lines. Woodbine Entertainment Group and Toronto Community News will have even more fun and games! How awesome is this Walk going to be?! Capture your team's participation by having your Team Photo taken on the south side of the Peace Garden.

REFRESHMENTS With thanks to product suppliers, Mr. Case and Minute Maid, we will have a variety of juice and snacks available including granola bars, applesauce cups, chips, rice krispie squares. Popcorn carts will be busy popping up a storm for our walkers as well. WATER .. PLEASE NOTE! City of Toronto Water Cart will be stationed on site but please note that by-law restrictions do not allow for Autism Speaks to provide bottled water on the Square. Juice boxes will be available but to access water, we ask that you bring re-usable containers from home to fill with water to drink.

SCHEDULE Official Walk Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:45 AM and the walk starts at 10. It should take approximately 45 minutes to complete the Walk route and once you are back, keep enjoying the fun and music until our closing ceremonies at 11:30. What should you do first? If you have money to turn in on Walk Day, please go to registration area (west of the doors into city hall). Any walker who raises $150 or more will be given a ticket to claim your official Walk Tshirt at our Tshirt tent. If you have done all your fund raising on-line and have raised $150 or more, you should still proceed to registration to get your Tshirt ticket. Volunteers will also be on hand to guide you if you need assistance finding any area.

PLEASE NOTE: the office will be open late Thursday and Friday if you wish to hand in any pledges and pick up your tshirt tickets to avoid any lines on Sunday morning. We are located at the Islington Subway station - 1243 Islington Avenue, Suite 504. GRAND CLUB MEMBERS can avoid the general registration area and proceed directly to the Grand Club tent immediately beside the Stage to check-in, receive your special gift, meet our VIP's, limber up for the walk with a massage and have some special snacks! To be officially inducted into the Ontario Walk Grand Club, you must have raised $1000 before the walk. There is still time .. we have 58 Grand Club members thus far and a whole bunch of walkers who are so very close to reaching $1000!!! You can do it! Join the Club!

PARKING Parking is $7 and is located directly under the Square. Because of road closures for the walk, we ask that you please use the parking entrances to the Square off Bay Street and via the Eastbound lanes of Queen Street.
