Double Ground

1. The project peels off the gray-carpet parking, which currently overflow the site, transforming the surface into a mouth that scoops buses and cars into its belly.

2. The manipulation of the elevation of the four corners frames the site keeping vehicular circulation out and channeling public flows in. The folded corners outline a central plane. This limestone tiling pattern (25mx25m) opens up multiple programmatic possibilities of market stalls, soccer games, food carts, or music events.

Impress Surface 3. The ground folds up and depresses to articulate a series of surfaces: sunken beach, reading hammock-oasis, green ramp-seating, skate park, etc.

Assemble Elements 4. A series of figures assemble onto the plinth: immersive children museum, post office, a solar balloon, and archives-stacks.

I ALSO SING, DRUM, AND PLAY THE PIANO

“I have been playing the piano, drums, and have been singing since I was six. I have been in multiple radio and TV commercials, community, and high school theatre productions, as well as playing piano as an accompanist for UofM music theatre students. My experience in piano and percussion led me to play drums for a local band in Ann Arbor. Our venues included bars and restaraunts in Ann Arbor and Pontaic, MI. I am currently a tenor in the Michigan Men’s Glee Club and will be touring with them in China this May.”
