Multimodal Transportation Conclave - 2018

The Committee of Roads, Ports and Other Infrastructure, PHD Chamber, organised the ‘Multimodal Transportation Conclave’ on 23rd March, 2018, at The Imperial, New Delhi. The event was attended by more than 200 delegates from the Industry and other stakeholders. The conclave had three panel discussions which were addressed by eminent speakers from both the govt. and private sector. RK Pandey, Member (Projects), NHAI, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Govt. of India; SK Lohia, MD & CEO, Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC), Govt. of India; Julian Michael Bevis, Senior DirectorGroup Relations, South Asia, Maersk Group; SN Ali, Group General Manager/BD, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL), were some of the prominent industry leaders

present at the event among many others. Kailash K Aggarwal, Joint Secretary (Sagar Mala), Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India, informed the industry in detail regarding the ambitious ‘SagarMala’ project and further apprised the participants that it has been moving progressively and would lead to additional capacity creation at almost every port in the country and also inland routes on various identified projects as per schedule. Anant Swarup, Joint Secretary (Logistics), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, said, “Not only the department of commerce but also ministries of railways, surface transport, shipping and a host of others are collaborating with one another to facilitate better logistics movements which is likely to come out with a consolidated multimodal transportation.”
