Fitzwilliam College At Fitzwilliam, we value every individual’s contribution to our community. Our Fellows and staff are dedicated to creating a space in which our students are stimulated to develop their best qualities and achieve their goals academically. Our position, just outside the city centre and off the tourist trail, fosters a real sense of community. All our undergraduates are housed on-site or in College houses very nearby.
Fitzwilliam is a modern College, set in some of Cambridge’s most beautiful gardens. It was founded to broaden access to Cambridge and this remains central to the College’s ethos. Students from all backgrounds are welcomed and quickly made to feel at home. It is a famously friendly College. The café/bar, with its wonderful homemade cakes, is a great meeting place for students, Fellows and staff.
We strive for and achieve the highest academic standards. The new library is open 24/7, and provides a calm working space. During exam term, our Librarian enforces study breaks with squash and biscuits for all! A wide range of College societies and one-off events give many other opportunities to hear (and argue) about new ideas.

Fitz students play as hard as they work and the College is renowned for its music scene, with ensembles including a jazz band and barber shop choir. Our extensive sports fields are nearby with gym and
squash courts on-site. ‘Billy pride’ is strong at Fitz, with the ‘Fitz firm’ always out in force to support our sports teams.
