Bin çocuk korosu sahnede A thousand children ensemble on stage Çankaya Belediye Baþkaný Bülent Tanýk ýn seçim çalýþmalarý sýrasýnda kurmayý vaat ettiði Bin Çocuk Korosu, ilk konserini verdi. 100 çocuktan oluþan ilk koronun büyük bir coþkuyla seslendirdiði parçalar izleyicilerden büyük alkýþ aldý. Konserden sonra sahneye çýkan Tanýk, çok büyük bir kývanç ve mutluluk duyduðunu belirterek, önce çocuklara sonra emeði geçen herkese sevgi, saygý ve þükranlarýný iletti. Baþkan Tanýk, katilleri alkýþlayan deðil, sanatýn aydýnlýðýný ve ýþýðýný taþýyan insanlar yetiþtirmeyi amaçladýklarýný belirterek, insanýna ve çocuklarýna yatýrým yapmayan toplumlarýn geri kalmaya mahkûm olduðunu ve geri kalan toplumlarýn her þeylerini kaybedeceðini dile getirdi.
The Thousand Children Chorus, a project heralded by Çankaya Mayor Bülent Tanýk before the local elections, gave its first concert. The concert by the first ensemble, composed of a hundred children, received huge acclamation from auditors. Tanýk, who took the stage after the concert, said he was full of pride and joy and extended his love, respects and thanks to children and all contributors. Mayor Tanýk said they aimed at raising people that appreciate the brilliance of art rather than acclaim murderers, and noted that societies which does not invest in people and children are destined to lag behind and such societies lose everything they have.

Kampanya kapsamýnda Ilýsu Barajý projesinin yapýmý için kredi vermesi gündemde olan Akbank ve Garanti Bankasý'na tarihi mirasýn yok olmasýna destek olmayýn çaðrýsý yapýldý. Dernek üyeleri Garanti Bankasý Genel Müdürlüðü önünde bir Hasankeyf protestosu gerçekleþtirdi. Dernek Baþkaný Güven Eken, "Garanti'nin kamuoyu önündeki bu sýnavda doðru tercihi yapmalarýný bekliyoruz dedi.

The Nature Association, struggling against Ilýsu Dam which will destroy Hasankeyf and the Tigris valley, has initiated a new campaign. A call was made for Akbank and Garanti Bank, which are reportedly considering funding the Ilýsu Dam, not to support destruction of cultural heritage. Members of the association staged a protest for Hasankeyf in front of Garanti Bank headquarters. Association s head Güven Eken said, we expect Garanti will make the right choice in the trial before the public.
