My favourite things PHONE “I love my phone … I think a lot of people are frowned upon for using your phone a lot … but I think it’s amazing the things it can do.”

EXERCISE “I like playing touch football but also getting outdoors, going to the gym.” Josh says anything that gets him outdoors, away from the desk is a positive.

DRINK BOTTLE “I take it everywhere. It’s a two litre drink bottle … just because I like drinking water. I find if I don’t bring it, I don’t drink water.”

ACT Young Canberra Citizen of the Year 2019

Josh Gonzalez Minero was named as the ACT Young Canberra Citizen of the Year for 2019 alongside his brother Oscar. At the end of 2016, the duo founded PKUP, a driving service that allows customers to be taken home in their own car, ensuring they and their cars return home safely. As part of their business, Josh says giving back to the community was always something they wanted to include. “When we had the opportunity to finally do it we thought let’s go at it. We feel privileged to be in a position to give back.” Josh, who grew up in Canberra and studied economics at the ANU, says the hard work starting the business has been worth it but is looking forward to some downtime. “I would love to start going out a bit more … the first two years was a lot of head down, go go go.” - Allison Turnbull 138

WORK “I love my work and being able to do what I love and trying to overcome the challenges the business presents. I personally believe our business is a really good service to Canberra.”
