performances over the years both as a soloist and a conductor locally at several aged care facilities, and frequently appeared at National Multicultural Festival, Canberra International Music Festival and Floriade. Recognising the increasing demand of high-quality chamber music concerts and holding a belief in the power of music that would make a difference to our community, in 2018 Shilong founded Grevillea Quartet with Rebecca Lovett, Julia Clancy and Samuel Payne and they became the first professional string quartet based in Canberra to promote chamber music in recent years. The Canberra debut of this exciting ensemble will take place at Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit in Forrest, 6pm, 28 October. Tickets are available at www.trybooking. com/WYUA Shilong believes Canberrans should be able to access regular high-quality chamber music performances right here at their doorstep, and it is Grevillea Quartet’s wish to inspire Canberra with their interpretation of chamber works from great composers of the past and present. As the manager of Canberra’s new professional quartet, Shilong invites anyone who believes in the future of a more innovative, more inspirational and more integral Canberra to come and sponsor this aspiring ensemble.
