The most important lesson that I have learned about service during my time as a Bonner is the value of long-term, sustained, personal commitment to a community. I have learned the value of humility and really listening long and hard before speaking, acting, or making any judgment… I have been deeply impacted by my 4 years as a Bonner both professionally and personally — it has undoubtedly impacted the trajectory of my career in social justice and the way I related to and work with communities.
