113 In January of 2011, the Underground Studio investigated existing urban areas as well as undeveloped land within the vicinity of Mammoth Caves to serve as potential sites for the NSS Headquarters. The towns of Horse Cave, Cave City and Park City were examined with regards to their available infrastructures, amenities and overall accessibility. Experiencing these locales firsthand revealed an incredible dependency of the surrounding economies upon the Mammoth Cave tourist culture.
