I’m graduated of the Colombia National University, the best one of the country, and one of the best in Latin America, where you are admitted after an intense process of selection; I was in the group composed by the 10 percent of the best grades in the graduated professionals.

When I was studying 5 of my projects won the contestant named “SALON DE OCTUBRE”, where the best projects of every year are selected to be exhibit and exposed in different places in Colombia. Furthermore, I worked in Colombia, as Junior Architect for 8 months, there; I made a lot of detailing plans and models that are needed for constructing a building. Besides, I made an online course at Harvard University named The Architectural Imagination, I speak Spanish, English and, in an intermediate level, German. I am a creative and innovative person, lover of design and the theory that sustains it. In spite of that, I don't neglect other fields (constructive, urban, etc.), quite the opposite; I recognize its leading role at the moment of conceiving a building. I value teamwork and its results; I am an open person for learning, for this reason, I am analytical in everything in what I take part of, also I have a high degree of commitment, since reaching the best possible results satisfies me.

There is complete darkness, a totally absence of light, what can I see? well, I’m gazing at only one distinguishable space in this experimental box closed in all its sides, limitless and unknown.

A circle shaped opening in the Up side of the box permits the entrance of light, with this new feature space is divided in two, one deliniated by a flat surface of light and the other by darkness.

C O N C E P T M O D E L 2 0 1 5

Are there possibilities of shaping into a volume the flat light?, It seems like that, now the opening is covered with a bottle filled with water. The lightrays are guided to make them a 3D shape.

A giant garden, with a vast and gentle green area, where the university community can sit, have some rest, even sleep, or just share with friends; under the shadow cast by the mixture of trees or under the sunlight; enclosed with modern architecture, is certainly an excellent description of the National University of Colombia, where this center of neurological investigation is located. The placement is fascinating, since there once stood the fallen architecture building. The project is surrounded in the west by the Fine Arts building, in the east by the Faculty of Economic Sciences, in the north by the building of the Departments of Physics, Statistics and Mathematics. Lastly, in the south by the Music Conservatory. Fine Arts building is a special case that has the same two facades in its 2 faces, that’s why there is a plaza connecting the project with this building. T E C H N I Q U E 2 0 1 4

The project is formed by 4 lines of consecutive modules, 2 of them are intercepted in their ends and, the other two are parallel to the intercepted ones. This configuration allows the building the possibility of future expansions, since the area of this project is easily affected just by adding modules to each line, as a result, the building can’t die in time. Also, each module is wrapped with layers: the structural layer, the facilities layer, the corridor layer, all of which enclose the main space. Alternatively, it is implemented a game with the building faces, the back face is open while the front face is closed. With this proposal the natural conception where the main entrance of a building must be open, and the rear must be closed, is invested, producing the friendly space not in the front of the building, but in its back. Cities are in a continuous growth process, even when they reach its maximum size in the horizontal plane, they begin to grow in the opposite plane, the vertical. For this reason 1 and 2 storey houses are transformed into 4 and 6 storeys high buildings. Something similar happens in this housing project located at the 32 Street 24 Avenue, in the central area of Bogotรก, Colombia. There is a big residential zone in this place, in the surroundings you can find houses and housing buildings varieties, along with important flows of people at certain times of the day. In the south part, there are two important highways intersected, the Americas Avenue and 30 Avenue.

The housing project consists of two large broken and curved bodies, similar to a chain. A central corridor leads to the different apartments, which receive natural light without problem, but, the corridor, due to its location, doesn’t; that’s why the building is broken, with this strategy it is guaranteed that the natural light passes through the circulation. The disposition of the central gap, between the two buildings, receives and guides the flow of pedestrians, generating an urban connection. The housing typologies change in size and disposition, therefore being suitable for all kinds of users. In the ground floor there are disposed different commercial uses, to complement the inhabitants needs and, to increase the flows of people. As a result, we have a strategy against the poles of insecurity.
