an area in the city of Bauru

The creation of a public space in a consolidated urban area. An architecture that captures the people’s looks that pass by and invite them to come in. These were the principles from which this project started. With the idea of modifying the daily landscape, we have an area abandoned by government, a void in the urban center of Bauru / São Paulo / Brazil. Studying the city plan and public spaces that exists in the people's day-by-day, the implementation of this project begins articulating a path that creates internal spaces open to the city and connects buildings. A deviation from the sidewalk leads thru the project’s interior, where limits are not defined. The permeability in the "closed" spaces happens on the same stream without physical barriers, and visually inviting eyes to wander curves, identify shelters, to be inviting. The program begins on city's demand for social facilities. Wen we study the needs and the real effectiveness of activities that propose a "reintegration", which is imposed and demanding facing different realities of the population we want attend, the program proved quite complex. The homeless population need activities that are not only to their welfare. The main focus is create those spaces, especially with regard to free areas and proportions of the buildings, which do not arise as imposing and rigid. The buildings were designed so as not to cause a rupture in the landscape, but to be part of it. The vegetation that descends and permeates the ground between buildings, the ground floor's typology and curved roofs compose this landscape. The project is called Living Center, a place with a diverse program and that allows other activities can be undertaken in their spaces. A place that start from the idea of integration, in sports, in the restaurant, in the courses, but mainly in the space configuration, internal and external, for the socialization. This work was carried out in the ninth and tenth semesters of undergraduate course, individual I the course of Final Graduations Work (2012).

Movement Object Throughout the course the searching for architectural references I found that ones that most captivated my attention, like: the ideas of Acayaba, the use of wood and its connections; also, Calatrava's projects, designs full of movement; and Sergio Ferro's ideas regarding the use of local materials and labor force participation in the work, which instigate to imagine how do this collaboration and always thinking in design specifications according to the needs and availability of the site. The relation user-architecture, breaking the barrier between producer and receiver, the relationship with the environment and the insertion into the urban landscape are some of the guidelines that I consider essential for an architectural project. This object was drawn from the reflection on those ideas. Textures, colors and shapes, movement and materiality, techniques that best answers the proposed project. This work was carried out in the eighth semester of undergraduate course, individually, in the course of Final Graduation Work's Introduction (2011).

Urban Planning IV

This project consisted in the creation of a new neighborhood in an area bordered by the main access road to the town of S達o Carlos, Washington Luis highway, a large empty area, separated by a stream and bounded by two pre-existing neighborhoods. The proposal creates two main axes, one related to leisure and other to culture, with a preserved green area in the permanent preservation area around the stream, which brings people together through walk circuits, bike paths and living spaces, in addition to cultural and sporting equipment accompanying this axis. The second track, perpendicular to the first, connects the neighborhood by crossing over the stream. Trades and services are placed in this second axis, which will meet the new demand on site. This work was carried out on the seventh semester of undergraduate course, group, course in Project IV (2011).

Urban Planning II

This study was conducted in an area of the Mo贸ca neighborhood in S茫o Paulo. The research and analysis revealed a strong relationship between neighborhood and railway system, which was a strong guideline to the project. The project is based on the reconfiguration of spaces and the creation of new relationships. With a lot of abandoned warehouses and underused areas, the group proposed the construction of residences and commerce in a few blocks, remodeling and adaptation of a number of sheds for social housing, demolition of another shed for the opening of a drought square off the train station and the school of arts also proposed here, and also the reconfiguration of the east side of the railway line and the formation of a park with facilities for sports and leisure. This last element has an impact at the regional level and would be a breath for the neighborhood, since the area in which it operates is of great density and small common areas and recreational facilities, mainly in relation to nature. This work was carried out on the seventh semester of undergraduate course, group, course in Project IV (2011).

Comfort Study XV Novembro Plaza - S達o Carlos - S達o Paulo

This project aimed to improve the comfort elements of an existing plaza in the city of S達o Carlos. It has been found through researches and analysis some factors that don't cooperated so that the environment be a pleasant place to be, such as: solar incidence, noise of vehicles, distribution of equipment, among others. The group proposed some solutions, such as the construction of a acoustic shell in the center of the plaza, site currently widely used for cultural presentations, but without any kind of permanent protection, requiring the frequent construction of temporary shelters. The beds from plaza form barriers and limit the paths of pedestrians, then we propose the downgrades of some beds and the creation of wooden walkway to allow crossing and also the formation of internal livings, as in the connection between cafe, deck and beds. A research about available materials on the market that met the proposals of this project was carried out, which was according to the quality and sustainability of the facility. This work was carried out in the fifth semester of undergraduate course, in group, in the course of Environmental Comfort in Urban Space (2010).

Visual Languages

The work done in the course of Visual Languages entices students to communicate through forms, lines and colors. Initially, the study and interpretations that parallel lines can cause, as the depth created from a small displacement of a sequence of lines. Secondly, the proposal adds the object manipulation level. Creating a manageable folder, builds up from this relationship with the person who handles. According to the way the folder is opened, the relationship between the shapes and the phrase he brings is altered, instigating a person to want to change their way of closing or reading. These studies were performed in the fifth semester of graduation, individually, in the discipline of Visual Languages (2010).

Drought and Green Plaza

Project and drawings of two public squares in the city of S達o Carlos. Two different proposals, talking with the environment and their location. A drought plaza under an overpass, an area currently dimly lit and unattractive to enjoy the place, but with high flow of people all the time, which have requested an answer to improving that place and bring elements to the project that highlighted that space and bring security and attractiveness to passersby. At another site, close but with quite different characteristics, we propose a green plaza beside a government building, whose idea started from the proposal to attend and provide to the user a space to enjoy, a place for socializing and contemplation, which may serve more broadly as a breath to the city. This work was carried out in the fourth semester of undergraduate course in group in the course of Landscape Architecture (2009).

Social Housing

Buildings with five floors and up to 50m² apartments. The internal movement, organization and distribution of places for vehicles, common area and living aspects had great importance to the development of this project. The design seeks the best deployment guidance according to heatstroke, the shortest way between their respective apartments and parking spaces and a large living area. The idea for the apartments was to design a space that is usually neglected for social housing. Through a set of volumetric apartments was possible to create outdoor areas in some units. This work was carried out in the fourth semester of undergraduate course in group in the course of Project II (2009).
