Welcome to the 2024 Carberry 4H Beef Club Market Steer Sale!
Sale Sponsors
Hello everyone! We would like to welcome you to the 2024 Market Steer Sale. This year we have 14 members in our Club, 11 of which are planning to showcase their Market Steer Projects. The kids have worked hard at home to get their Beef projects ready for Achievement days and their Steers ready for sale day. Please be sure to stop by the 4-H Barn at the fairgrounds to visit with the members about their projects, they are very eager to tell you all about them! We will be holding a live auc on of our 4-H Market Steers during our Achievement Days at the Carberry Fair on Saturday July 6th at 5:00 pm at the 4-H Barn. Josh Unrau of Unrau Auc ons Ltd. has generously donated his me to our clubs again this year to auc on the steers at this years event. We would like to express our sincerest Thanks to all of our past and current Sponsors, Buyers, and Bidders....and of course, the parents!!! Without your endless support of our 4-H club, the members would not have the opportuni es to take part in all that 4-H has to offer. We understand that not everyone has the freezer space for a full or even half a beef. Please feel free to chat with any of us about sharing the purchase of a steer or partner up with someone to help share space and reduce your cost on buying a premium quality product to feed your family. There are spaces reserved at Cut-Rite Meats at Carberry, Smile Pinoy Foods in Gladstone, Prairie Rose Meats in Souris, or you can use an aba oir of your choice. The members will deliver your purchase to your loca on of choice. We also have our “Cow Pie bingo” fundraiser happening at Sale me where we will auc on off sec ons of the pen for the chosen Cow to deposit her “pie” on. There is a 50/50 draw happening again this year, our lucky winner last year was Genene Loewen of Douglas, MB . If you have any ques ons, please do not hesitate to call any of the members, parents, or leaders.
See you all at the 4-H Barn!!!

Hi there! My name is Lucas Bieganski and I would like to welcome all of you to our 4-H Achievement Days and Market Steer Sale. This is my first year as the President of the Carberry 4-H Beef Club. I have also served as the Club Treasurer in past years. This year, our Achievement Days will be on Friday July 5th & 6th at the 4-H Barn at the fairgrounds. All of our members are sure excited and can’t wait to showcase their projects. What does 4-H mean to me? Well, I have had many opportuni es to learn new skills and meet new friends. This past year our Club has been busy with many different things. We kicked off our year with a bowling party and mee ng to get re-organized. During our Weigh Day we learned how to start halter breaking our animals and we collected non-perishable food items for the Carberry Food Cupboard. We had our float in the Santa Claus Parade which is always lots of fun. At our Communica ons event we got to give speeches and learn about various topics that the members chose to speak about. Some of our members went on to par cipate at the Central Plains Area Council Communica ons event also. We helped out at the Ag Society’s Brunch which is always a great place to visit with people in our community. The Sidney 4-H Beef Club invited us to join them at a Beef Clinic at the MBFI grounds; this was a great day of learning about calving and ca le handling. The 4-H Provincial Rally in Brandon was a fun event where we got to choose different ac vi es to par cipate in and connect with 4-H’ers from other clubs around the province.
On behalf of our members, I would like to Thank all of our sponsors who support us and help to make this event possible. It really does mean a lot to us!
Paisley Baron Market Steer
Hi my name is Paisley Baron, I am eight years old and this is my second year in 4H. My mom and dad are Megan and Sco and I have a li le brother named Thomas. This year I chose a Charolais steer named Cookie. Cookie is the baby of my very first cow, My Moo. I have owned My Moo since I was two years old. Cookie’s Dad is a Charolais bull we have named Gangster. Cookie was a bit tough to break. He kept running away from mom. So, mom told dad to hang onto him and dad barley did. But we won, and we took Cookie to the winter fair in Brandon. Where I showed him in the steer class and got fi h place.
Reasons to buy Cookie
1. Cookie will probably be one of the bigger steers there, giving you more meat in your freezer.
2. Cookie will taste very good. Don’t believe me. Just go ask the guys at Mid Plains, they bought my steer last year. By the way. Thanks again Kevin, Eric and Brad at Mid Plains in Carberry for your support!
3. I will donate 5% of my steer sales to the Carberry North Cypress Langford Fire Department
So come down to the Carberry Fair and Races July 6 and 7. To see Cookie, myself, and the rest of the steers for sale on Saturday a ernoon. If t make it and want to bid on Cookie or any of the steers, call my dad Sco Baron 204 573-7882 or call my grandpa Tom Baron 204 7258349. They’ll hook you up!
