Heritage & Culture Our architectural heritage is important. We approach each of our Listed Building projects in a respectful and considered manner, ensuring we fully understand a buildings background, historical significance and value from the outset in order to inform the design strategy and considerations thereafter. Our experience extends across Listings Grade A, B and C in the design, refurbishment and conversion to fulfil where relevant more commercially viable uses, such as hotel, office and residential.

Interior & Workplace Successful architecture comes through the intrinsic relationship between the interior and exterior design. We approach the design of all our projects in a holistic manner however occasionally we are asked to look at a projects interior in isolation. We have broad experience in the design and delivery of interior projects from corporately branded fit outs to more general speculative developments that cater for a wider potential variety of end users. From refurbishments to bespoke fit outs, workplace and office space planning we have extensive experience in the implementation and delivery of a number of successful projects across our core sector areas of expertise.

Masterplanning Our broad and extensive experience of working with Clients on the masterplanning of mixed use, commercial and industrial developments spans across the country. With our strong cross sectoral experience we bring industry best practice knowledge to the masterplan and design from the outset and coupled with our commercial awareness and understanding we strive to produce viable and successful strategies that both respond to context and key stakeholder requirements. We regularly provide our clients with feasibility options appraisals in their simplest form to evaluate the potential for development, through to detailed strategic framework analysis for larger schemes as part of a wider team.

Background

Cameron Laird Bsc (Arch), BArch (Hons) RIBA, ARIAS Director CLA was formed in March 2013. Our team is headed by Director Cameron Laird who with over 20 years’ experience within UK based Architectural practice has been responsible for a comprehensive range of buildings and projects throughout the country. Graduating from The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and the University of Dundee, Cameron spent the first few years of his career in Glasgow with 3D Architects and GD Lodge and Partners working on a number of high profile commercial developments. He rejoined 3D’s Edinburgh office in 2003 taking responsibility for the development and management of key private sector clients and a portfolio of projects across a number of commercial sectors. Promoted to Divisional Director in 2005 as a senior member of 3D’s UK national management team, Cameron had specific responsibility for business, resource and financial management within their Edinburgh office. He was also involved at a senior management level in the merger and integration between 3D Architects and Reid Architecture to form 3DReid in 2007.
