Congratulations! We would like to offer you a place within our Elms BMW Soccer Centre Programme for the season 2016/17
Congratulations! You have been identified as a ‘Promising Young Footballer’ by your Cambridge United Youth Development Coach. It is therefore my pleasure to invite you to train with Cambridge United Football Club, and offer you a place in one of our ‘Soccer Centres’ for the remaining 2016/17 season. The Soccer Centre’s now sit above the Community events the club host, and serve as a feeder into our Regional Development Centre and Shadow Academy system. We believe that you have shown the potential to progress through our Youth Development Pyramid. Weekly regular coaching with the Cambridge United Youth Development coaches will give you the perfect environment to improve and develop as a footballer and become the best you can be and potentially move through the ‘Youth Development Pyramid’ below.

COMMUNITY SPORTS PROGRAMME
Soccer Centre Programme: 12 Soccer Centre Locations: Cambridge United run a total of 12 Soccer Centres all within a 50 mile radius of The Cambs Glass Abbey Stadium. By having these locations all available to attend, players have the greatest chance of securing their ideal location.
Training Sessions: The Soccer Centre programme delivers 10 sessions per term on a week-to-week basis. The 60 minute training sessions will cover a vast curriculum of skills and techniques and be themed around the techniques of ‘Destroying, creating and Goalscoring’. Improving their ability within these themes will help players accelerate their development in pursuit of progress through the Development Pyramid. The syllabus used has been designed and created by academy coach, Joe Bennett and Youth Development Coach, Charlie Rome. The syllabus has a fantastic balance of being fun and enjoyable while still providing players with the resources they need to develop as a footballer.
Reviews: Upon completing each 10 week block, the players will receive a certificate of completion stating whether they are a ‘Destroyer, Creator or Goal Scorer’. This will provide an indicator of where we feel the players greatest strengths are.
Current Club: Players who train in our Soccer Centres can continue to participate for their local Saturday/Sunday league teams. Cambridge United encourage players to receive as much coaching as possible, as this gives each individual the greatest chance of developing their talents.
The Opportunity: Training Aids The Soccer Centres offer a perfect environment for players to develop and progress as a footballer. We can offer a number of training aids and tasks that players can use and practice outside of their training hours, giving them the best opportunity to develop.
The Coaches The Soccer Centre Programme is led by the Soccer Centre Manager, Joe Bennett. All Soccer Centre coaches hold a minimum qualification of FA Level 2 and Youth Module 1 award and are DBS checked. As well as being highly qualified, our coaches have several years’ experience of professional youth coaching. Many of the Soccer Centre coaches work within the Shadow Academy and Regional Development Centre’s at the club also and so will be able to provide good knowledge of how to improve to reach the next level of your development.
The Venues We have a total of 12 training venues to make it as easy as possible for players and parents to attend a venue local to them. Please note that certain venues do not cater for all age groups. Players will be grouped age appropriately dependent on the age of players in each session.
