DIVISION DESCRIPTION Lead Line - Open to riders 8 years of age and under. Judged 50% on child’s hands and seat and 50% on mount’s quietness and suitability. May be asked to drop and pick up stirrups and reins. May not compete in any other division. Novice Rider - Open to riders in their 1st or 2nd year showing over Fences. May compete in Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, or the Pleasure divisions. Short & Long Stirrup Equitation - Open to all riders. Judged on hands, seat, legs, general position and control of mount. May only compete in Pleasure, Children’s Hunter, Amateur Adult Hunter, & Green Hunter divisions. Pleasure Horse and Pony - Open to horses and ponies. Under saddle judged on performance, manner, and suitability of mount to rider to give a safe and comfortable ride. Discipline Rail may be asked to halt, perform a sitting, extended, collected, and/or posting trot, start into a trot from a halt, & back. Combination class to jump two fences not to exceed 2’ Green Hunter Horse & Pony - Open to horses and ponies in their 1st or 2nd year showing over fences. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. Fences 2’ in height. Trot or canter fences. Simple lead changes will not be penalized. Children’s/Amateur Adult Hunter - Open to Jr. Riders 17 years and under on horses and ponies. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. Fences 2’ in height. Open Equitation - Open to Junior and Adult Amateur riders. Judged on hands, seat, legs, general position and control of mount. Fences - 2‘ or 2‘3“. Low Hunter - Open to horses or ponies. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. Fences 2’3” in height. Schooling Hunter - Open to horses or ponies. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. Fences 2’6” in height. Working Hunter - Open to horses or ponies. Judged on manners, performance, suitability and soundness. Fences 2’9” or 3’ in height. Time First Round - The first round is decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the time allowed. Horses with clean rounds or equal faults are classified according to their time taken to complete the course. Time First Jump-Off - The first round and first jump-off, if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed if any. If a competitor has gone clean in the first round, he/she will, without leaving the ring, upon an audible signal, commence the designated jump-off course. In the event of equality of faults after the first round, there will be one jump-off for first place only in which time will decide in the event of equality of points. Power & Speed Add Back - The first round and first jump-off, if any, are decided by adding together the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed if any. If a competitor has gone clean in the first round, he/she will, without leaving the ring, upon crossing the finish line, commence the designated jump-off course. Time starts as the horse crosses the finish line for the initial course. If a competitor has not gone clean in the first round, upon an audible signal, he/she will leave the ring. If there are no clean rounds and a tie exists for first place, there will be one jump-off in which time will decide in the event of equality of faults. The use of time allowed is optional in the first round. Add Back Class - The third class of each division will be an add back class. The entry fee is $22 per horse. $11 of each entry fee per horse will be placed into the purse which will be divided as follows: 45%, 30%, 15%, 10%. Horse/rider must compete in at least one of the other classes in the division to be eligible to compete in the Add Back class. If a rider has not competed in at least one other class in the division, he/she will still be allowed to compete in the Add Back class, but will not be eligible for the Add Back money, and will still pay the full price for the class. Add Back classes do NOT count towards Champion or Reserve for a division. DUE to inclement weather for our four show series last year, points from our Oct. & Nov. 2009 show will be carried over to this years show series. ALSO our first show on September 11th and our last show on December 4th will both be double pointed. Directions

Rules and Regulations Schooling will be permitted until 8:15 a.m. 1. All riders are required to wear protective headgear when mounted. The USAEQ Helmet rule for Jr. will apply. 2. Proper riding attire (Boots and Breeches) is required. Coats are required for equitation classes. 3. Pre Entries received by Wednesday before each show date $11.00 per class. Entries may be sent either by USPS or e-mail. 4. Post Entries the day of the show $14.00 a class. 5. Scratches for a refund must be made before the class begins or horse/rider combination will be charged. 6. Back numbers will not be issued until a signed blank check is left with the show office. Please return your numbers to the show office so your same Back Number can be used for the entire Show Series. Make checks payable to: Country Haven Stables. 7. All entrants must sign a release form before showing. Juniors 18 years of age and under must have a parent/guardian sign. 8. A Junior Rider is a rider under 18 years of age as of December 1st 2009. 9. All ponies are to be ridden by a Junior rider (except in Low or Schooling Hunter). 10. Proof of negative coggins dated within 12 months of the show date. 11. The Show management reserves the right to cancel or combine any classes or divisions with insufficient entries. 12. Three entries are necessary to fill a performance class and the points count towards the Country Haven Series End Awards. 13. All entries will be judged on soundness upon entering the ring, and must trot at some point before jumping the course. 14. All classes will be in accordance with USEF when possible. Should a question arise that is not covered by the rules, the same will be referred to the Show Committee/Management whose decision is final. 15. Six ribbons will be awarded in all classes. Championship and Reserve Champion in all divisions. 16. To be eligible for championship points in a hunter division a horse/pony must enter & complete the course in at least one (1) over fences class. 17. To be eligible for Country Haven’s Series end awards horses/ponies & Riders must compete in 3 or more shows in the series. 18. The Show Committee reserves the right to decline any entry, to return any entry fees before or during the show, without being liable for damages. Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to judges or officials on the part of the owner, rider, trainer, or groom shall disqualify the entry and the owner shall forfeit entry and other fees. 19. Water will be available on the grounds. Please bring your own food since we won’t have a food booth. 20.
