Kyle Shotwell, 2006 Buck Buchanan Award Winner

Kyle Shotwell became Cal Poly’s third consecutive Buck Buchanan Award winner in December 2006. He holds school records for tackles in a season (158 in 2005), sacks in a game (4.0 vs. San Diego State in 2006) and finished No. 2 in career tackles with 392. Like Jordan Beck and Chris Gocong before him, Shotwell played in EastWest Shrine Game and was the game’s leading tackler with seven. He was signed by five National Football League teams in 2007 and 2008, but never played a down in a regular season game. He currently works in Palo Alto for Cloudera as manager of its sales development team after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Cal Poly in 2009.
