Job Description IO Interactive is currently looking for a full-time Concept Artist to join an unannounced AAA game project. We are prepared to accept applications from the very best talent from around the world and offer relocation packages in order to secure the right candidate for this role. As a part of the team, you will collaborate with the art director to achieve the creative vision of the project. Ongoing responsibilities include: producing concepts for locations, characters and other game assets as well as working on wrapping, marketing material, etc. You will be constantly striving for the highest possible standards of style and looks.You will be involved in the initial design of graphics and will be collaborating with the directors, leads and individual team members. Your goal is to set new standards for style and concepts in games gaining optimal resonance within the market. Basic Roles and Responsibilities •

Work with the Art Director to achieve the creative vision and a consistent style in the game

Establish style by creating concept artwork, asset production designs, and graphics visually describing characters, locations, props etc.

Create inspirational and trend setting storyboards, sketches, layouts and color schemes

Work with direction creating concepts for menus, OSD, HUD and game wrapping

Create concepts and make marketing material to support the production

Work with environment artists on early 3D visualization prototypes

Assist and give feedback in the actual creation of game assets like models and shaders

Required Skills •

Accomplished Concept Artist preferably with experience of working on at least one AAA title

Excellent drawing and conceptualization skills with an ability to adapt to established styles


Understanding of fundamental illustration skills including form, composition, perspective, light and color theory

Understanding of surface texture, anatomy, and architecture

Ability to respond elegantly to difficult creative changes, often late in the process

Must be capable creating diverse styles

Digital illustration skills and an advanced understanding of Photoshop

Self-motivated towards solving creative problems

Excellent written and oral communications skills in English

A passion for video games is mandatory

Of Advantage •

Fine Art or Design Education background

Experience in one or more 3D sculpting applications (Zbrush, Mudbox, 3DCoat, Sculptris ...)

About the role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Artist to come on board and work as part of our expanding games studio. The artist we are looking for would have a broad Game Artist skill set – traditional and digital with the main emphasis on 3D (our studio uses Maya as standard).   A good example would be someone who is very comfortable either creating or working from supplied concepts to construct 3D scenes comprising all required assets, with one eye on efficiency and budgets. They would then be right at home animating the scene, including props and cameras, to bring it to life ready to hand across to the design and engineering team.   Character animation experience, including rigging, would be a real plus. You will also be working with game assets created by outsource partners, ensuring they fit perfectly into our pipelines.   A varied and colourful role, you would be making a difference throughout the game development cycle - from initial concepting and prototyping, all the way to to final delivery.


You'll have great attention to detail, be very comfortable with deadlines and strive to deliver the highest quality artwork.   Responsibilities: •

Creating 3D environment scenes and props ready for use in game

Creating animated sequences – both creating your own and working with existing character models

Visualise ideas and concept in both 2D and 3D

Ability to plan and estimate work effectively with project management

Work together as part of the studio team - Art, Design and Engineering

About you:

Demonstrable experience in creating in-game art

Traditional Art skills – sketching for concepts / storyboarding

Hands on experience of 3d software – Maya in Particular

Expertise in creating 3d environments

Texturing, Lighting, Cameras and Rendering

Expertise in Character modelling and animation

Advanced Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills

Experience with art pipelines and content editors (e.g. Unreal).

Experience with optimising assets for use in-game

Hands on knowledge of Perforce a plus

Capable of working to a brief without supervision and deliver games assets to release quality

A keen eye for detail

Self-motivated with good judgement and the ability to get things done in a timely manner

Job Description About the Role: We are currently seeking a talented UI Designer/Artist to join a North West based studio embarking on an exciting new project entering full production. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to creatively influence a brand new franchise and be a part of our development strategy for years to come. This is a full time, in-house role currently based in the Greater Manchester area. Employment is based on an Initial 3 month temporary contract, leading to a contract extension or permanent role upon review. Experience: Preferably 3 years games industry experience or experience of working on a full cycle of at least 1 published title. Applicants that do not have the preferred experience, but can provide strong portfolios displaying outstanding creative and technical ability will be taken in to consideration.   Responsibilities: •

Create a complete and cohesive interface for a new I.P.

Use Flash and Scaleform to create dynamic interface elements, complimenting the art style and gameplay experience.

Work in conjunction with coders and designers to create flash based mini games from pre existing designs.

Develop strong, cohesive art style and themes for the projects interface elements.

Ensure the interface elements meet all games industry standards for certification on the major platforms.

Skills: •

Knowledge of at least one common 2D multimedia or interface package (e.g. Scaleform, Flash)

Ability to work as part of a team, in conjunction with coders and designers to create the interface system.

Extensive portfolio of flash developed projects, especially mini games.

2D Photoshop proficiency to create visual mock-ups of styling and layout.


Ability to design layout/UI storyboards and process flow charts.

Ability to understand technical implementations and limitations.

Additional Qualities: •

A high degree of self-motivation and initiative.

A strong interest in games and related media.
