TheSanDiegoStateUniversity BrawleyCampusprojectisatwostoryconcretetilt-upbuildingwith decorativemetalpanelfeatures thatenhancetheexterior. Highlightsincludecolonnade perforatedaluminumpanelsmade fromtwolayersofmetalwith differentperforationpatterns,as wellasstrikingverticalfinpanels. TheteamworkedcloselywithSundt andarchitectACMartintobring thecomplexdesigntolife,earning positivefeedbackfromSDSUand allpartners.Oneofthemain challengeswascreating attachmentdetailsforthepanels, whichwereultimatelydesignedfor botheasyinstallationandan appearancethatmetthe architect’sandowner’svision.
