VISIT US You may have noticed purple or blue marks on legs of many people that look similar to lines on a roadmap. Now, you may think what are these lines clearly visible on the legs? Well, they are veins. Wait. Do these veins look different from the one that you have on the side of your elbow or wrist? It is because these clearly visible veins are Varicose veins.
Varicose veins are swollen, enlarged and twisted veins found near the skin surface. They are commonly found on the legs and feet, particularly on the calves and generally appear dark blue or purple in color.
Preventing Varicose veins: Let me tell you few ways that can ease the symptoms of existing varicose veins: •If you have developed varicose veins, it is best to wear compression stockings to prevent the condition from getting worse. Compression stockings improve blood circulation. Tight around the ankles, they encourage proper flow of blood upwards, towards the heart. •Avoid sitting or standing for long period. Try to walk around every 30 minutes. •If your job needs you to stand for a long period of time, take breaks and try to raise your legs. •Regular exercise is very important. It improves the blood circulation and helps in maintaining a healthy weight.
