Hi ,my name is Xin-Ping Hung. I come from Taiwan and study in department of architecture in Tamkang University. Since I was young, my parents have given me a great deal of idea about art and beauty due to their work in commercial design property. Art make me mind-satisfied and precipitation all the time, also inspire me creation and daily life. However I interested in structure engineering how to be practiced as well, architecture is the combination of both.As a junior of architecture field,I work hard to convey my own idea and cooperate with others. Although so many people left along the way, several nights I stay up late for such a little simple reason and several occasions I missed with my family, but I know that this is the tough process I have to pass. Architecture is not an easy occupation but a lifelong commission and responsibility. As a born risk-taker and snooper, I like to keep trying new things and challenging myself. Keep running on the road and be positive to become the different one.Hope to help the world change in the near future.

Dihua Street is recorded with prosperity and decline of the old Taipei. There are many busy commercial activities gathering here, also, many goods coming from all over Taiwan would be shipped from here to the globe. Today, while making some flourishing mark on Dihu Street, people only flood into this place in the holiday and festivals. In this empty and old town, how do we create a new living style to strike a balance between industry development, neighborhood needs, living environment, and cultural texture? In terms of industry development context, we find Dihua Street is famous for Taiwanese products such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, and Taiwanese tea. Despite all independent development, the peak sales the products achieve respectively at different times. It has come into my mind that industry transformation can be my design topic. Herb dyeing is a natural way to dye fabric without environmental pollution. All herbs can be used except Chinese medicinal herbs and tea. Additionally, exploring and realizing the value of village are the way to collect materials. However, rethinking that the requirements for single-parent family are how to affect new types of family structure. With industry transformation, its economic benefit and other related industries are whether or not can help single-parent family develop. When foreign visitors come, it will increase the interaction between different cultures. Each person contributes their particular talents in exchange for personal needs. Besides living together, sharing is whether or not to increase people-to-people interaction by dyeing fabric or other activities.

Tamsui has been a prosperous town since Qing dynasty. People's life has much to do with the water. For example, historic walls were washed away by rain or the golden age was recorded in Tamsui River. People who live here wake up in the atmosphere filled with humidity every morning and go home in the yellow radiance every evening. Time is an invisible environmental factor. There are different activities occurred and disappeared changing the configuration space at every moment. However, we focus on the blank time of daily life. Is something else possible to happen between incidents? Or there might be a few temporary activities happening to pass the time. We take some items for example, such as doing the laundry, drying clothes, waiting for children to finish class, waiting for restaurants to call number, etc. The time that we are indulged in electronic products and ignore surroundings. Therefore, Tamsui is no longer the town I used to have known. People have no chance to see the sunset. The public space will be filled with tourists day after day. How do we connect daily life with the city and people to be an extension of life, also to create a restful and learning place.

Time analysisEvery moment of people’s activities in Tamsui. We seperate 3 periods during a day, which people are busy in doing something, and the periods between these parts called “Blanks of a day.” Therefore,we integrated our program into these blanks, hoping that people can have deeply emotional connection to the land where they live over 10 years,20 years and even more

Listing activities and geographic conditions around the site so that configuration of interior architecture can correspond to the surroundings around the site. There is a reminder increasing localization of Tamsui in the daily life. Not only for outsiders and tourists, but also for local residents. E.g., In our program, passing by the laundry is an essential route before the beginning ( walking along the washing machines to look for the empty one ). We can remind people by this route which is people will see the greatest sunset of Tamsui through the window next to washing machines. Besides, people can see historical houses which leaved by Qing dynasty and also see street artists from this side

QIYAN ELDER DAY CARE CENTER In 2018, there will be over 14 percent in elderly population of Taiwan. Taiwan will go from being an "aging society" to an "aged society." It also will cause a shortage of labor force and elder-care problems, so this assue of aging population is we are going to confront. The program I think about daily living of the elderly, how to prevent from aging, and what kind of role to play in society. A concept of Aquaponics integrated into my program is a system with low labor, low energy consumption, and easily planted without fertilizing. It is a suitable daily physical activity for the elderly to slow aging. Moreover, the fruits and vegetables which they planted can be sold to the market and combined into the cooking courses. With two businesses, they can spend these incomes on their life. E.g., The elderly who have diabetes and high blood pressure can consult nutritionists for healthy menu to ease dependence on medicines. In this way, it not only reduces huge expenses on health insurance, but also eases economic pressure on elderly care. A unit of house consisting of four people is 10Mx10M space with an individual lounge, living room, kitchen, and greenhouse. In the greenhouse, there is an aquaponics system cultivated by four people.Aquaponics system is inserted into a staircase and dynamic routing to make the elderly finish the agricultural work when taking a walk. After that, they can enjoy the harvest with their family at the end of day.

cOMPETITION & WORKSHOP

Wufeng District was the most damaged district by the 921 earthquake in Taichung, Taiwan. In this area, people suffered from losing their houses, so they must unite to confront difficulties and reconstruction. Here was also a new town established by Taiwan Provincial Government after the Second World War. It not only built first separate systems for sewage and stormwater but introduced the concept of Garden city from United Kingdom. However, this town was advances in technology at that time as well as full of many intellectuals since Qing dynasty. Therefore, we started thinking about what type of libraries should be built here after thirty years. In the Information Age, libraries are getting more space because printed books are obsolete. Knowledge is presented by various technological products. Is Information Technology simply defined by which informs the answer to a question of some kind? After thirty years, people's lifestyle will be changed because of the digitization of everything. In the future, space construction will be changeable and use big data analysis to do change at any time depending on different users. Moreover, collecting information periodically concerning age, gender, groups, and physical environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, illumination, shadow area, etc. After finishing data analysis, integrating all analysis into configuration space to restart a program. Based on all the information and analysis, space will be adopted by the concept of affordance to generate the interrelationship between people and activities. However, the activities are how to occur and be presented. The people who should think about the essence, origin, and result of activities rather than depending on available location and resources. In this way, it will not be one-to-one communication to get information in the library and toward multidirectional communication which means a group of individuals who interact with one another.
