Jackson Ave. Fitness & Aquatics Center It is the intention of this thesis to explore how contemporary architectural elements can be integrated into an exiting structure, blending the two languages and creating a kind of “hybrid building, in which both the new and the old systems work together. In this project, a dilapidated ferry terminal is reinvented as a fitness & aquatics center, connecting the community back with the mighty Mississippi River.

Louisiana Children’s Museum Project Response: Located in New Orleans City Park, the proposed design mimics the “secret garden”-like follies that can be found within the park. It’s crescent shaped plan draws people into the building from both sides of the park.

These two realms intertwine to create a circulation/rendezvous point that has an atmosphere all its own.
