Mr. David Zukin David Zukin is excited to begin his 23rd year as an educator and his first year in Florida. David moved here this summer from Colorado, where he spent the last 21 years of his life. He has also lived in Illinois, Iowa and Michigan. David has been a teacher, coach, athletic director, activities director, and assistant principal, and for a short time, he held all of those positions at once. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Iowa in 1993. In 2000, he earned his Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis on Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.
Ron DelaCuesta joins the Mathematics Department. With 30 years of educational experience, Ron has taught in both private and public schools in Indiana and Florida. He has had the experience of starting a charter school as an administrator. Ron earned

his Bachelors Degree in Education from Purdue University and his Masters in Secondary Education and Educational Leadership from Indiana University. Growing up in a military family, he has lived all around the world from Germany to the Middle East. Ron, with his wife Stacie and their two sons Logan and Dylan, moved to Florida in 2011. They enjoy traveling and have been to all 50 states, including Alaska this past summer. “I am excited and blessed to be teaching here at Verot.”
Austin Flores ‘08
Austin Flores is in his first year as a teacher at Bishop Verot. Austin, a 2008 graduate of Bishop Verot High School, joins the Social Studies and Physical Education Departments, teaching World Geography, Team Sports, Weight Training, and Personal Fitness. Coach Flores is looking forward to his first year as Head Baseball Coach, taking over from Mr. Dave Nelson. Austin graduated from Nicholls State University in 2012 and served as a college baseball coach BISHOP VEROT ALUMNI MAGAZINE
Chris Kelly is very blessed to be teaching AP European History and World History at Bishop Verot. Chris returns to Bishop Verot after serving as the Learning Resource Coordinator from 2010 through 2013. He was born and raised in Staten Island, New York and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from The College of Staten Island in 1997, majoring in Psychology with a minor in History. Chris has been teaching high school for nearly ten years and spent the last two years teaching high school history in the Lee County School System. Chris and his wife Mellany ‘98, have four children; Carlyn, Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Jacob. Chris’ children attend St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Ft. Myers. Chris enjoys playing basketball and baseball with his children and helping his wife Mellany with basic duties for her flourishing law practice in Cape Coral. Chris is so excited to be “back in the fold” with the Bishop Verot community.
Alissa Schenk was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Kinesiology: Athletic Training. While there, she worked directly with Purdue athletic teams including football, women’s basketball, and wrestling. She then attended the University of South Florida and earned a Masters Degree in Medical Sciences, with a concentration in Athletic Training. Alissa was a Resident Athletic Trainer at Berkeley Preparatory School
