Welcome to BIO 2016

Steve Dunne Managing Director, Savvy Group Main Event Sponsor

Welcome to Business in Oxford 2016. This is the 3rd year that this informative event has taken place in Oxford at the impressive Saïd Business School and we are sure that this year will continue to build on the strong foundations laid in 2014 and 2015. Business in Oxford has been designed to provide a detailed programme of informative presentations, showcasing the best in Oxfordshire’s business talent and provide a networking and knowledge building platform for all those in attendance.   We at Savvy Group are the main event sponsors this year. We have found the previous events very insightful and they have provided some great opportunities to meet likeminded business people and we hope that this years event will be as informative and interesting for you.

The Oxford economy continues to grow at a historically rapid rate, and the prospects for the years ahead look very positive.

Cllr Bob Price Leader, Oxford City Council, and Board Member of the Local Enterprise Partnership

The regeneration of the West End, from Westgate to the Station will create a 21st century business and innovation quarter of the highest quality. Further afield, the Northern Gateway and the Churchill sites are set for exciting new developments. Oxford was shortlisted alongside seven major cities in the European Capital of Innovation 2016 competition – a genuine reflection of the quality of our local business, research and social enterprise culture. Business in Oxford is the outstanding annual showcase for the richness and dynamism of Oxford’s economy. It provides an exciting opportunity to catch up with new developments and to learn about the exciting prospects for the future.

Key Points We must respect the strict security policies of Saïd Business School at all times with regards to this event. Given the full timetable we must also ensure this event runs to schedule. We have therefore outlined the key terms below which must be adhered to. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any exceptions to these terms. Presentations will begin on time – any latecomers will not be admitted. • After entering your chosen POD there is no re-admittance if you choose to leave or entrance to another POD. • You may swap PODs with other delegates before the POD starts – all delegates will be given tokens for their chosen PODs which may be exchanged with other delegates only. • Presentations are strictly limited to 12 minutes and cannot run over. There will be a chairperson and timer present to make sure timings are adhered to. • We ask that all guests and presenters remain on site for the full day if at all possible to ensure maximum attendance for all PODs – this event is at capacity. • Delegates who have a complimentary ticket to this event and do not attend for the full day will be charged £25 which will be paid to our official charity, Ronald McDonald House. • No food or drink inside lecture theatres other than water which is provided.
