Three rooms are located above the museum entrance, but provide good self-contained events rooms that are quietly located above where the museum exhibits are. The centre is perfect for all types of events. Guests of the centre can also enjoy the museum exhibits, with 1000 British made bikes on display.
There is a central courtyard that separates the museum from the centre. It’s a perfect area for barbeques or photos with its ornamental fountain. The centre has great access for load in and load out, with vehicle access to certain rooms. There is a service lift that gives goods access to the suite located on a lower ground level.
The NEC, the UK’s largest event venue, offers 18 versatile event halls, 32 purpose-built conference suites and 186,000sqm of covered space, with blank canvases that are flexible, futureproofed and a perfect fit for events big or small. Whether you’re looking to host a smaller event for 10 or a larger event for 10,000, its flexibility, scale and expert team can make it happen, seamlessly working as one with your team.
At the NEC connections are built between audiences and events and between physical and digital worlds. The recent £7 million technology infrastructure investment reaffirms a commitment to ensure that the venue is the best connected venue digitally as well as physically.
The NEC is the first venue in the UK to adopt WaitTime, an artificial intelligence solution that provides real-time measurement of venue capacity and crowd density, and further enhances its data capabilities. Capacity counting is safe and sharper, compliant venue operations are maintained and the software provides robust crowd data and business intelligence information.
While there are many reasons for choosing the NEC, from its expert team and over 40 years of experience to its impressive green credentials, it’s the location that really set it apart from the competition. Quite literally, thanks to being a self-contained island. Its central UK position ensures you’ll always have maximum visitor reach for your event, while the unrivalled transport connectivity means it takes minimum effort for your visitors to get here.
Accessing the site is also easy, which makes build time quicker for your exhibitors and their contractors. Having both an international Airport and International Railway Station on the doorstep is always handy. While an on-site 24/7 entertainment complex is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
The NEC has 2,000+ hotel rooms on site across 7 different hotels, so delegates can take a leisurely walk from hotel to venue. There are a further 2,000 hotel rooms immediately outside of the campus. Plus, there are 6,500 hotel rooms in Birmingham city centre, only 10 minutes away on the train.
There are also fresh opportunities to enhance your show content across the 440 acres of outdoor space including woodland and a bathing quality lake. The NEC has invested heavily in this area over the past few years, which has seen enhancements to our Lakeside Gardens, woodlands and the creation of a new beach front around Pendigo Lake.
Not only does this ensure your visitors have a place to recharge their batteries and relax while they’re here, it also enables you to put on outside events that wouldn’t be possible at most other UK exhibition venues. Best of all, as a self-contained private site you won’t have to deal with all the usual red tape associated with putting on an outdoor event. No road closure headaches or longwinded permission seeking required here.
The Vox is a unique and attractive offering to the conference market, situated within Resorts World Birmingham, the UK’s first leisure and entertainment complex. The first-class conference venue has five multi-functional suites that combine or divide to suit your event requirements.
Its five suites can accommodate up to 900 delegates in a wide number of formats. Relaxed, formal, freestyle – whatever you need, this venue will deliver you a setting that’s impactful and playful in equal measure. While its award-winning skyfold walls mean spaces can transform in minutes. And did you know about the customisable lighting? Or the plug-and-play technology and complimentary WiFi throughout the Vox?
The Vox believes it’s good to think small. It enables the team to concentrate on getting the little things right and every minuscule detail spot on. Take its three executive boardrooms for example. With maximum capacities of 28, 20 or 16 people, they provide an ideal breakout space. And while smaller than the suites, each is no less superpowered in terms of the audiovisual equipment, lighting and hospitality options available.
While the venue is packed with unique features, it’s the spacious foyer overlooking Pendigo Lake that generally generates the most oohs and ahhs. An ever-popular space for lunch and drink receptions, the foyer also has a number of large screens that can be used to outline your agenda, broadcast live sessions to an extended audience or as a useful sponsorship and promotional tool. Now on to food glorious food.
Few things are more likely to make or break an event than food. After all, it’s what keeps delegates energised throughout the day. It’s why the team ensure innovation is always on the menu, a view that’s shared by award-winning in-house catering partner, Amadeus. With over 40 years’ catering industry experience under their aprons, Amadeus understand the unique challenges of events and catering.
And, like the venue, they approach every brief the same – by treating it differently. Along with the venue’s sustainability credentials, it’s just one of the many reasons they’ve won over 650 industry awards.

There’s no better way to immerse your delegates in the buzz of the city than at a venue with plenty of open-air space. Encourage visitors to soak up the atmosphere of the West Midlands in tranquil gardens, thoroughly modern courtyards and rooftop spaces that are nothing short of inspiring. Whether you’re hosting a drinks reception, team building activity or an awards ceremony, there is a beautiful outdoor space to fit the bill right here. Our favourites include…
Walk just a short distance from Birmingham’s centre and you’ll discover Digbeth. Once home to blacksmiths and tanneries, it’s now the city’s creative heart with venues like the effortlessly cool Fazeley Studios injecting fresh energy into the area. In the venue’s stunning landscaped courtyard, guests can enjoy food al fresco or just mingle freely, taking a break from the usual conference format.
Set within a landmark Victorian building that is sure to impress any visitor, Hotel du Vin boasts a relaxed, informal courtyard space at its centre. Designed to accommodate up to 150 delegates for drinks receptions, or up to 100 seated, the space is ideal for all seasons thanks to a smart retractable roof. This peaceful courtyard space is the ideal place to bring delegates to unwind and get to know each other better.
A place for small gatherings, refreshing break out activities and informal networking, the courtyard at Austin Court offers delegates a sense of privacy with all the convenience of a city centre location. The space caters for up to 100 guests, who are free to roam the network of walkways and relaxed seating areas, forming new connections as they do.
At this large conference hotel, meeting is always on the agenda. That’s means you can trust every space to be set up with all you’ll need for your event, whether it’s a casual get together, or a more formal session. On the spacious outdoor terrace, you can host up to 150 people, with a range of seating options, fresh décor and a balcony overlooking the city below making every delegate feel at ease.
Young and fresh, The Mill is known as something of a hotspot in the heart of lively Digbeth. For a great time, invite delegates to enjoy the atmosphere on the venue’s Roof Garden. From here, up to 350 standing guests can enjoy a drink from the tiki bar, along with incredible sky-high views of the city – it’s the perfect place to watch the sun set in good company.
Packed full of dynamic event spaces, Thestudio Birmingham offers plenty of room for delegates to relax and socialise during a busy event. The real hidden gem here is the roof garden, tucked away beside the venue’s Atrium bar. As part of the venue’s large event space, Explore, the outdoor area offers a space to enjoy the natural world, with the convenience of adjacent conference facilities.
A beautiful roof terrace with panoramic views across the city, the Discovery Terrace at Library of Birmingham is a real showstopper. The space overlooks Centenary Square, giving delegates a stunning view of central Birmingham along with plenty of space to relax, network and celebrate in style. With ample space for 300 guests, a built-in outdoor bar and convenient disabled access, this is an ideal space for practically any group.
If you’re looking for a city centre space with plenty to offer outdoors, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill might be the ideal location. Here your delegates can enjoy a drink overlooking the city’s evolving skyline from the comfort of the carefully styled rooftop conservatory. Even better, they can enjoy the same experience all year round, with heaters and a retractable cover making the space just as comfortable come winter.
As one of the most famous sites in the West Midlands, and a regular concert host, Coventry Cathedral provides an adaptable space which can’t help but make any type of event feel rather grand. In the floodlit ruins, delegates can take in fresh air and stunning architecture while you lay on anything from awards ceremonies to workshops, networking events, concerts, corporate receptions and more.
There’s nowhere better to bring your team together than right here in the West Midlands. Easy to access and filled to the brim with an incredible range of exciting group activities, this is a trip to be remembered.

No visit to the West Midlands would be complete without time spent exploring the incredible range of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs which line our streets.
Food and drink are in good supply in the West Midlands, with a host of independent restaurants, cafes and bars peppering the region. Dine at the Balti Triangle for a flavour of the Birmingham’s biggest culinary export – the Balti – or wander the stalls of some of the UK’s biggest foodie festivals to taste everything the region has to offer. There are no fewer than an astonishing 11 Michelin-starred restaurants in the region, so you’ll never be short of choice if it’s a show-stopping meal you’re looking for.
Adam’s is a contemporary British fine dining restaurant serving modern dishes run by Michelin Star chef Adam Stokes. The restaurant interior manages to strike a balance between luxury and informality, to feel exclusive yet approachable. Below the smart cocktail bar and plush dining room the basement plays host to an open kitchen, a beautiful horseshoe chef’s table and a glass wine cave
Embrace elevated Indian cuisine in the centre of our vibrant city with a visit to the much-loved Dishoom. Sharing traditional Indian dishes alongside modern reimaginings of all your favourites, the restaurant is a real experience. Modelled on the markets of Bombay, a visit here is a true celebration of good food and the independent spirit India and Birmingham share.
A place where locals are on first name terms and visitors are welcomed with open arms, Shababs has long been considered one of the best restaurants in Birmingham’s Balti Triangle. Here diners will find fresh flavours cooked the traditional way, with delicious baltis cooked and served in the same dish. It’s a comfortable restaurant where tradition meets thoroughly modern service, and flavour is always a priority.
The Canal House is a fantastic place to meet, eat, drink and breathe with extraordinary views of the canal basin from its large outdoor terrace. It is a space for making time and exploring possibilities. With four private dining rooms amongst our beautiful restaurant, its the perfect setting for any occasion.
Bringing incredible Sri Lankan food to the heart of Birmingham, The Coconut Tree promises an explosion of flavours dished up in a relaxed yet stylish space. A stripped back, ‘street style’ interior immediately puts diners at ease, and the authentic, youthful energy of the restaurant certainly matches the friendly service you’ll find inside.
At 200 Degrees, coffee comes first. Sitting just below Birmingham’s famous Grand Hotel, known for its impressive Victorian architecture, 200 Degrees provides a beautifully designed, relaxed space in which visitors can come together for a snack and a cup of truly incredible coffee. With a barista school and a meeting room on-site too, it’s a multi-functional space that’s sure to enliven any visitor.
