William Park to the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes

Boston University School of Law 765 Commonwealth Avenue Boston, MA 02215

President George W. Bush announced the appointment of BU Law Professor William Park to the World Bank dispute resolution body, known as ICSID: International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. The term on the Panel of Arbitrators runs until 2014. Professor Park is general editor of Arbitration International and vice president of the London Court of International Arbitration. He served on the International Commission for Holocaust Era Insurance Claims in London and the Claims Resolution Tribunal for Holocaust-related Swiss bank accounts in Z端rich. He now sits on the NAFTA Financial Services Roster and the Board of the American Arbitration Association and recently participated in the AAA Task Force to draft information exchange standards for arbitration. Professor Park has authored several books on dispute resolution, including Arbitration of International Business Disputes: Studies in Law and Practice published by Oxford University Press in 2006.

"Once in every few years, there comes along in most disciplines a book which is quite special. In our discipline of dispute resolution, only one or two fine minds have attempted to collect, digest, analyse and expound the whole body of knowledge about a subject as large as international commercial arbitration. Professor Park has done that and more: he has given every topic his own new twist."
