PRINTERS NEWS... CLAIRE’S SKIING HOLIDAY I went on my skiing holiday with European Milton Keynes Snow Disability Group and my mum came too. When we got there it took me a little while to get used to wearing my ski boots again and remember my skiing skills. The next day we skied to sixteen hundred level then stopped for a coffee break. After this we did the squirrel run, it was amazing skiing between the trees. Another day we did the Chenin which is a blue run and I was singing all the time, it was lots of fun. On the last day we had a presentation and we did a performance of “This is me” from the Greatest Showman. We all had a wonderful time. Claire

NICK’S BIG MOVE On February 2nd I moved to Clay Street to live on my own. I really like the house. My home has a dining kitchen, a living room, a staircase, a bathroom, a big bedroom and a small bedroom. My bedroom is the big one. The small bedroom is a work in progress. I have a TV in the living room. I have my Nintendo consoles in my living room. I will have my PlayStation consoles set up in my living room sometime. I am currently learning how to use the washer and drier. I use my iPhone as an alarm clock so I can wake up on time. I know how to wash up. I get my own breakfast. There will be times that I will stay at my parent’s house although I will stay over the holidays. My mom helps me with the house work like cleaning the bathroom, dusting surfaces and using the drier. For years, I’ve been hoping to move out before I’m 30, and I did. Nick

PROUD PRINTER I became the Printer of the Year in 2018, so I thought about creating a badge for the future Printers of the Year. I thought about giving something that means more than just a certificate. I asked around if my badge idea was good and Printers and staff thought it was a great idea. I decided to design a badge using my drawing tablet and the art program I often use. I gave it a calm and colourful pallet with bubble writing so it would be a treat for the eyes. The badge in question has a stage style to it with a curtain pattern around it. I gave it a green background with fireworks and the curtains are pink with yellow trim. I designed the badge at home and saved it onto a memory stick. I hope the future Printers of the Year will enjoy wearing the badge. Georgie

WEBSITE MAKEOVER Following our rebrand, launched at our 30th birthday party in September, our website has also had a facelift. We wanted to depict the vibrant and busy social enterprise that we are and show off our print work to its best. The new look shows a portfolio of work we have printed here and the possibilities of what we can offer. Hopefully this will enable our customers, both old and new to see what else we can help them to create. From the new site there are links to our Facebook page, a place to send us large files for printing and a bit about our dedicated team of Printers. Please check it out at www.burwellprint.co.uk and your feedback would be appreciated.
