Our Spaces The Moira Preston Building

Room to Imagine A light, airy room with floor to ceiling windows that can accommodate up 40 people sitting for a presentation, and up to 25 in a workshop/meeting. Set in the heart of beautiful woodland, just outside Burnley City Centre, our welcoming and friendly environment with purpose-built facilities of the highest quality are the perfect setting for classes, conferences, presentations, meetings and receptions. With over 25 onsite parking spaces plus lots of free parking nearby, Burnley Youth Theatre is the go-to venue for events and meetings of any size. Our Moira Preston Building is brand-new and combined with our other building, The Youth Theatre Building, we offer a variety of adaptable spaces available throughout the week. It is a unique place to hold your event, whatever form it takes, and please remember that by using our space, you will support our core charitable aims and enable us to continue to make a life-changing difference to children and young people.

Room to Do A square room, with minimum distraction perfect for a concentrated effort. This room can accommodate 50 people in a presentation style and 30+ in a group activity. This is a large room with a lot of flexibility. Seats up to 50 Hearing loop Flipcharts

Kitchen and Toilet facilities The Moira Preston Building has separate kitchen and toilet facilities, meaning it can function away from the main building. It can therefore accommodate a discreet event.


Our Spaces The Youth Theatre Building Alan Daiches Studio Whether you’re looking to put on a performance, a seminar or run your weekly zumba class, Alan Daiches Studio is the perfect space. A modern, professional theatre, the space boasts an impressive selection of staging opportunities, seating up to 158 audience members on our raised seating. The seating can be moved to create space for twelve large conference tables. Highly regarded by industry leaders, this space is artistic and adaptable. If you’re looking for inspiration, we have a pretty, well-maintained outdoor performance space – sometimes frequented by our local deer! Seats up to 158 Hearing loop Flipcharts

@home in the Foyer During the day the foyer provides a welcoming environment for users of the building, whether they are working here, watching a show or taking part in a workshop; it’s a place to make yourself at home. The foyer is available for evening and day time events where the space offers an intimate and flexible space for functions or meetings.

us? We are an evolving space with a story and we want you to become a part of it. We want you to understand that by using our space and contributing a donation for that use, you are supporting one of the most dynamic charities in Burnley and enabling us to continue to make a difference to children and young people. Located in the heart of Burnley, Peninne Lancashire, Burnley Youth Theatre (BYT) was the first purpose built youth theatre in the UK. This is a unique charity with a welcoming and inclusive approach that is the perfect venue for workshops, events, conferences and many others. With a range of workshops and programmes already on offer to the public, BYT offers the highest quality training and opportunities to the local community. The building will be a source of learning and fun for generations to come; an exceptional place in to work, learn and be inspired. It is a place of creativity and community.

the charity At Burnley Youth Theatre, our mission is to creatively inspire and challenge young people to take their next step. We provide access for young people to theatre, drama, dance and the performing arts activity across Burnley and beyond. BYT has a reputation for creating dynamic, inspiring and original work, covering classic theatre as well as devised and original shows. We work with 3 25 year olds in our purpose-built space, and through the development of confidence, communication and creativity we change young people’s lives. BYT also works with a range of harder to engage young people in outreach settings and is at the forefront of community cohesion work in Burnley. We always bring young people to our space where possible. When you use our space, your donation will enable us to continue to further our charitable goals across the region, changing young people’s lives for the better, by providing an outlet, an opportunity, and a purpose for children and young people. And what could be better than that? We trust that anyone who works with us will do their best to donate a reasonable and representative amount for using our space but if you have a limited budget, please do contact us as we are always happy to negotiate.
