Lorraine K. Haaf

Judith (Judy) Johnson

Lorraine Katherine Haaf, age 92, of New Richmond, formerly of Siren, passed away on August 4, 2015 at the New Richmond Health Center. A. Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Webster. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster and also one hour prior to the service at the church.. Lorraine worked as an assistant manager in laundry at United Hospital for 25 years. She then went on to work at the Holiday Village Grocery in Milltown as the deli manager. She enjoyed being active in the Moose Lodge where she was designated head of the kitchen. Lorraine was an active member and served as an usher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Webster. On behalf of the family, special thanks goes to the New Richmond Health Center’s caring and compassionate staff. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Ronald) Jarchow; sister, Genieve Mingo; brother, Donald (Mary) Fuerstenberg; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Fuerstenberg, Ida (LaVon) Gates; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceeded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret Fuerstenberg; husband, Adolf Haaf; brothers, Richard Fuerstenberg, Francis Fuerstenberg, Robert Ferstenberg; sisters, infant twins, Alice Trevino, and Maryann Pierce; brother in-laws; Art (Ruth) Haaf, Harold (Gertrude) Haaf, Fred (Louise) Haaf, Clifford (Wally) Haaf, Kenneth ( Mary) Haaf; sister in-laws, Pauline (Raymond) Fox, Elsie (Gerald) Zinda, Lucille (Ted) Swanson, and Violet (Lowell) Klingenberg. Judith (Judy) Johnson, 76, of Siren, passed away August 4, 2015 from Ovarian Cancer. A memorial service was held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Siren Covenant Church with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. She was born on May 29, 1939 to Earl and Marjorie Nyberg in Cumberland. Judy graduated from Siren High School in 1957 and attended UW-LaCrosse for a year and a half before moving to the Twin cities to work before returning to Siren. She worked at various occupations in Siren until accepting a position with First Bank of Grantsburg, now US Bank, and worked her way up to branch manager. She retired in 2004 after over 34 years of service. She was also the treasure for the Town of Siren for 55 years. In recent years she had worked part-time at Best western Northwood’s Lodge and was currently employed by theInter-County Cooperative Publishing Association in Siren office.

Tim Paquette

Tim Paquette, age 61, passed away suddenly at his home in Discovery Bay, LA on August 4, 2015. Services are pending at this time.

Judy was very active in the Siren community being involved in many organizations such as Siren Lioness’ Club, Siren Senior Center, serving on the board at DSI, serving on the advisory board for ADRC, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, Selective Service, member of Siren Covenant Church and was a key contact for the Siren tornado relief efforts. She also served as conservator ad guardian for numerous residents in town., she enjoyed serving and helping people in the community. She married Wayne K. Johnson on May 9,1959 at Siren United Methodist Church. Judy loved animals, from her raccoons when she was young to the many dogs and other animals through the years, and most recently always having an “Angel” at her side. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending the grandkids functions along with gardening, fishing and cooking. She is survived by her husband Wayne K. Johnson, Siren; son, Todd (Cheryl) Johnson, Streamwood IL; daughter, Kimberly (Glen) Talmadge, Frederic; grandchildren, David, Cara and Jeremy Johnson, Streamwood, IL; Matthew (Jenna) Talmadge, Austin, MN and Jacob Talmadge, Eden Prairie, MN, sister-inlaw, Jean (Robert) Whitwam, Eau Claire; niece, Lynn (Jon) Blomstrand, Amery; nephews, Randy and Scott Hover, along with many close cousins and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marjorie Nyberg and infant sister, Pamela. Online condolences can be made at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
