istan, it is important for us to remember the dedication and sacrifice of our Canadian military and their families.” One of the individuals who received the honour was Marc Burchell, who is one of the co-founders and organizers of the Canadian Walk for Veterans, and past-president of the South Surrey-based Equitas Disabled Soldiers Funding Society, an organization whose mission is to improve the lives of injured veterans through advocating for veterans’ rights and restoration of

veterans’ benefits. The son of a Second World War veteran, Burchell has been fighting for veterans’ rights for many years. “I am truly honoured to receive a Field Knight honorary rank from the Order of St George Cascadia Priory,” said Burchell, in a statement. “Canadian veterans need all the help we can give them, especially when so many of them face difficulties and challenges in getting the financial, emotional and mental support they deserve from the Canadian government.”
