Bunnik Tours to take Europe by storm in 2022 Like you, we can't wait to get back

out in the world. We've missed the sights, the experiences and our wonderful tour guides, but most of all we've missed you, our curious, good humoured and open-hearted explorers! We are driven by two guiding principles when we design our small group tours. First, everything we do is about your experience, which is why we only run tours with a maximum of 20 people - that's less time waiting, more time exploring. Second, when done properly, tourism can be an incredible force for good that generates economic and social benefits in the places we visit.

Our small group tours connect people, places and cultures, which is important to help break down barriers, create lifelong memories and, best of all, share the benefits of tourism with all. We have limited our group size to a maximum of 20 travellers since 2011. We knew this was the best way for you to really get to the heart of what our destinations offer. That small group size brings many other benefits too, including a balance of organised sightseeing, special local experiences and time for you to independently explore your surrounds. Some of the best experiences are when you wander away from the group and make your own discoveries.

As a family business we have always been committed to providing you with an exceptional and safe touring experience. Be welcomed aboard our full size coaches where there are always plenty of free seats, space to spread out and take in the incredible views, and appropriate space for social distancing throughout the vehicle. From cruising the azure blue waters of the Adriatic, to a rococo-style reception at Rundale Palace in Riga, we include more on our tours. You can expect to see more, experience more and enjoy more on a Bunnik tour - with no hidden extras. Dennis, Marion & Sacha Bunnik

The Bunnik Way T

ravelling the Bunnik Way means touring in a small group made up of like-minded people. People who want to connect with the places and cultures they visit. People who share a love and passion for this incredible planet and its inhabitants. With you in mind, our itineraries include a balance between: all the famous landmarks that you rightly expect to see on tour unique local experiences that only small groups can access plenty of time for independent exploration and discovery. We believe there is no better way to create lifelong memories and really get to the heart of all that a destination has to offer!

Being a responsible tourist Bunnik Tours firmly believes that

tourism can create understanding between cultures and generate economic and social benefits in the places we visit. Our small tour groups are lowimpact and don’t ruin the very places we go to see. We build in free time to help spread economic benefits and design itineraries to avoid over-tourism where possible. 8

Environmental Responsibility We are focussed on reducing our environmental footprint with initiatives in place within some of our most popular destinations in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. The Bunnik Travel Group Charity Program The Bunnik Travel Group is committed to giving back to the communities we visit. For each booking received we make

a donation to the following organisations which do a tremendous job helping the less fortunate. Over the years we have raised and donated more than $100,000 through this program. The charities supported include the Sri Lanka Community Projects, Tanzeed, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Walk to Cure Diabetes program, Bali Kids / Carry for Kids and the Fred Hollows Foundation.

Our small group tours We create small group tours to the world’s finest destinations. Explore all the key sites. Delve into destinations with experiences that we’ve specifically designed to connect you to a place and its people. Sample local delicacies. And make lasting friendships along the way. All in a group that never exceeds 12 to 20 travellers. That small group size makes a big difference to your touring experience. It really is the best way to connect with the world’s cultures, history and people.

Small group touring, is it for you? So, you’ve heard of the term

small group touring but what are the benefits and why should you choose to travel in a small group? From sharing dinner with local families, visiting destinations off the tourist track, to creating lifelong friendships, we uncover why small group touring is for every traveller. You don’t just see your destination, you really connect with it Travelling in a small group size gives much more freedom when it comes to exploring a destination. Put simply, you don’t just stop by all the main sights of a destination and then pile back onto a crowded bus. Whilst you still tick off all the bucket list items a destination has to offer, you also have the luxury of experiencing things that are off the tourist track. It’s these moments that allow you to connect with the people and culture of a destination, all while still exploring the key sites.

You create lasting friendships with fellow travellers A small group size of 12 – 20 travellers means you really get to know the people you’re travelling with. Before you arrive on the first day of your small group tour, you already have something in common with your fellow travellers – your love of travel and eagerness to explore and connect with your chosen destination. Enjoy the company of like-minded travellers throughout your tour, creating connections along the way - memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

You gain a greater insight from your small group tour guide Tour guides are a crucial part of your small group tour. Each guide has detailed knowledge of a specific destination to share with you throughout your tour. A small group size gives everyone ample opportunity to talk with the

Touring with Bunnik Tours on one of our small group tours makes a big difference to your travel experience.

You get better views with spare seats on all our vehicles Many group tours will continue selling until the bus is full. This can mean all 49 seats are taken which leaves fewer chances to access window seats. We keep spare seats on our vehicles so that even if our tour is full with 20 people there are still plenty of seats to choose from and greater access to the views no matter what side of the bus you happen to be on.

Need help with Airfares? Airfares Included We include international flights from Australia on a range of our small group tours. It allows us to offer you a complete, stress-free holiday yet still gives you the flexibility to extend your stay or upgrade to premium economy, business or first class.

Return international airfares are included on small group tours where you see this icon. Upgrade your flights If you are looking for that extra bit of comfort, then we are also able to upgrade your flights to premium economy, business or first class. We have access to some of the best rates in the industry so if you are travelling for an extra-special birthday, celebration or just simply prefer to travel this way, then be sure to ask your travel consultant for more details.

We're flexible Did we mention we’re flexible? If you’d like to fly out to your destination earlier or spend a few extra days away at the end of your tour we’re happy to assist. Anything is possible, just ask! In 2022 we've extended our small group touring range to include a selection of unique land only tours. These shorter itineraries allow for greater flexibility and in depth exploration of some truly stunning regions of Europe, Scotland and Ireland. These small group land only tours capture all you know and love from Bunnik Tours, with our commitment to small group sizes, more inclusions and special, local experiences that connect you to your destination.

Book your airfares with us For tours where return international airfares have not been included we can help! Speak to our friendly consultants for the best advice. We have access to some fantastic fares.

Small group tour guides, nothing beats local knowledge Our small group tour guides are experienced leaders equipped to guide you on your small group tour adventure. Experts on your chosen destination, they provide a fun and inviting environment to explore and learn about the places you visit. From the moment your tour begins to the moment it ends, your small group tour leader is there to guide you every step of the way. Specialist local guides will also join you in specific locations.

All of our guides are carefully selected for their expertise, passion and genuine love of their country. You’ll find they have an energy and enthusiasm that is infectious and once you’ve experienced a Bunnik tour, we’re sure you’ll agree that we have some of the best tour guides in the world.

Tipping Made Easy

Tipping is not a part of everyday Australian life, so many of us feel unsure about when or how much to tip. However, tipping is expected in many of the countries we visit and often makes up a large part of people’s wages, so it’s important to get it right. For this reason, we have developed a program for all destinations where tipping is customary. This simple system sees us collect tips at the time of booking. We then pass these tips to our local staff, and they take care of all the tipping. Easy! It is compulsory for logistical reasons that all tour members participate.

Small groups, unforgettable experiences. Logistics handled, more time to enjoy your holiday What's the difference between a regular coach tour and a Bunnik small group tour? There are definitely common benefits to both formats. With all the logistics taken care of, you're able to sit back and enjoy every moment of your holiday. You see more for your money and make great friends along the way. The real difference comes down to practicalities. On a traditional coach tour the group size is usually large, sometimes up to 45 people on a coach. There’s a lot of waiting for everybody to catch up or just to get on or off the bus, the extra time taken to allocate hotel rooms, check-in or order at a restaurant. Then there's being told where to sit on the bus and not getting the chance to have your questions answered because the guide is busy with everybody else. These issues exist on all large group tours, whether they are 3 or 5 star. It is for this reason that Bunnik Tours pioneered the concept of small group touring. Small group touring, where our maximum group size will never exceed 20 passengers, where we don’t hide behind 'average' group sizes or stretch the definition of a small group to extend to 40 people. In a small group you still have all the benefits of a group tour, but none of the irritations of travelling with a large group. Because we know that a smaller group makes for some unforgettable experiences.

Special experiences, local insight into customs and culture

Plitvice Lakes, Croatia Jewels of Dalmatia

They allow us to get in touch with the world's people. After all, that's what a Bunnik small group tour is about - embracing people, culture and the world, through the fun, authentic experiences that connect us.

Admire the changing hues of the spectacular Plitvice Lakes, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue.

We strive to make the special experiences intimate and profound. They're the type of thing you can't do on your own or on large group tours, and are what set our small group tours apart. The experiences are expansive, fun and memorable.

Museum of the 5 Torri, Italy Alpine Discovery We’ll make our way up the mountains to the openair Museum of the 5 Torri, which bears the scars of WWI battles fought between the Italians and AustroHungarians.

Traditional tapas, Spain Spain, Portugal & Morocco Experience a traditional Spanish tapas dinner, enjoying a range of delicious bite-sized savoury dishes often seasoned with the likes of garlic, chilli, paprika, cumin, saffron, salt and pepper.

Family home cooking class, Turkey Turkey in Depth Visit a family in Cappadocia and learn to prepare some of the culinary specialties in a hands-on cooking class.

Tea-cream party, Azerbaijan Georgia, Armenia & Azerbaijan Get a real taste of the local traditions and culture at an organic home-made tea-cream party.

Inclusions spelled out. No hidden extras, these are all part of your trip

Curated destinations, lifelong memories Our small group tours are jam-packed full of sightseeing experiences, all included in the price of your tour. From entry fees to guided walking tours and all that’s in between, every sightseeing experience has not only been carefully curated by our product design specialists but is also included in the price of your tour because, let’s face it, who wants to travel on a group tour that requires you to pay more for sightseeing experiences?

Accommodation, a welcoming and safe retreat Big groups stay in the big hotel chains. We have the flexibility to choose from a wider range of accommodation based on factors such as character, service and location. From a cave hotel in Matera to a Beatles themed hotel in Liverpool, if it's worth the experience, we'll include it.

Internal transport, comfortable and diverse From the moment you say hello to your small group tour guide and fellow travellers, your internal transport is taken care of. From buses to trains, boats and planes. In Europe we'll travel by train, tram, metro or on foot, by ocean, river or sea. All aboard!

16

Tipping included, removes the hassle for you Tipping is included in your 2022 tour price. It is not a part of everyday Australian life, so many of us feel unsure about when or how much to tip. However, tipping often makes up a large part of people's wages, so it's important to get it right. That's why we include it from the start! Enjoy your small group tour knowing that your tipping has been taken care of.

Meals, breakfast daily and local flavours Food gives you the energy you need to explore and it also connects you to your destination. We include breakfast daily, along with plenty of meals encompassing local food and wine experiences. And we go beyond what’s served to us. Often we get involved in local cooking classes. Learn to make pizza in Italy, visit an Olive Oil Mill in Andalusia and enjoy a drink in an ice bar in Lapland.

Delicioso! An introduction to the history of Portugal’s most famed treat. Food, it fuels the souls of the locals in Portugal with Mediterranean influences, combining with a genuine passion and love of all things food to create a cuisine unlike any other. With an unparalleled sweet tooth, Portugal is home to delicious treats that your taste buds are sure to fancy! Pastel de nata, also known as Portuguese tarts, are a staple Portuguese dessert. The delicious egg filled pastries originated in Lisbon but are found throughout the entire country and have recently started making their way around the world.

Small Groups Unforgettable Experiences

Did you know, the original recipe dates back 300 years! Over 300 years ago in a parish located to the west of Lisbon's city centre, the first pastel de nata was created by monks at the Jeronimos Monastery. After starching their clothes with egg whites, the monks used the left over yolks to make the pastel de nata. They perfected the recipe and began selling them when they needed to raise money for the monastery. In 1834, the monastery was closed and the coveted pastel de nata recipe was sold to the owners of Pastéis de Belém, a bakery that still sells the tart today!

So, what’s all the fuss about? It’s very hard to taste a pastel de nata and not fall in love with it! Flaky, golden pastry encases a creamy custard mix flavoured with hints of cinnamon and lots of sugary goodness. The top is caramelised after baking to complete this tasty masterpiece. Eat as the locals do and accompany your pastel de nata with an espresso or cappuccino, the perfect morning, afternoon or evening pick me up!

Summer, autumn, winter, spring. Europe through the seasons. Europe, it’s the continent on everyone’s list. But when is best to travel through its incredible countries – summer, autumn, winter or spring? Sunseekers head to Europe en masse in the summer months of June, July and August. What's not to love about the sunny coastal charm of Dubrovnik, the light drenched squares of Barcelona, and the greenery of Stockholm's city spaces? Outdoor dining is a pleasure with prime people watching seats affording entertainment and colour. At the other end of the scale, winter in Europe can be equally magical. Cities turn into winter wonderlands as snow covers the buildings, streets and trees, lakes freeze over, and cosy restaurants serve warming

food. Sip mulled wine in Austria, discover the beauty of the snowcovered Plitvice Lakes National Park and stroll Ljubljana’s charming streets, just make sure you pack your beanies, gloves, scarves and jackets in your suitcase! Our favourite? The “in between” seasons of autumn and spring. Perfect for those who don’t like to be hot or cold, the weather is mild, the crowds are noticeably thinner, but the sightseeing is just as impressive. These seasons also bring with them their own unique flair – with the stunning burnt orange, red and yellow colours that take over the trees and landscapes throughout autumn and the sign of re-birth after a cold winter that comes with spring in the form of stunning new growth of flowers and more.
