By Scott Preston A fantastic day was had by everyone when the Bungendore Royals played Captains Flat at the 'Flat last Sunday. The oval and the new pitch are a credit to everyone who was involved in its resurrection and the hospitality was great. We look forward to the return match in March. Captains Flat batted first, and with Rick and Justin getting some early wickets, it was up to Mick and Platty to bat conservatively and steady the ship for the Flat. All of the Royals bowlers bowled well. Rick got 2/7, Butters dropped more balls than he caught as keeper, and Justin and Jerry could not drop a catch; they were

like panthers in the field! Platty got 44 runs for Captains Flat, Mick 32 and Davey retired on 50. After lunch we had to chase 175. It was a big total to match and the Bungendore Royals were very lucky that Chris retired on 53. He broke a bat in the process and showed us all how classy he really is. Paul got 40, Tristan got 27, but Dancing Dave was the man of the moment. He hit the winning run in the last over. It was nail biting cricket and it could of gone either way. We had a first win of the season, remain undefeated in the boat race 9this year), and all survived another road trip. Life is good today!
