Wire Rope Grips Care and Use: 10 CARE AND USE OF WIRE-ROPE GRIPS 10.1 Inspection A termination made with wire-rope grips shall be inspected at regular intervals. The preferred frequency of inspection is after each loading. In most applications, it will be found that the nuts require further adjustment. 10.2 Use Properly applied wire-rope grips afford a simple mechanical means of securing the end of a steel-wire rope. They are appropriate for temporarily securing the end of a steel-wire rope that may need to be shortened. They should not be used to secure a rope that is later to be lengthened from the gripped end (see Clause 10.4). Wire-rope grips are not intended for the permanent fastening of a rope that is subject to high dynamic loading. Wire-rope grips shall not be used for lifting purposes. Also, wire-rope grips shall not be used for rope terminations on load suspension devices that are used for lifting. Where wire-rope grips are fitted to ropes constructed of higher-grade wire than that described in Appendix D, the assembly may need to be derated to reflect the lower capacity of the wire-rope grips, or additional wire-rope grips may be required. Any manufacturer’s recommendations should be complied with (see also Item (b) of Clause 8.2). 10.3 Live running ropes Wire-rope grips shall not be used for making terminations on live running ropes (i.e. one that applies force to a moving object) nor where the rope is required to support persons or suspended loads. 10.4 Rope lengthening Wire-rope grips should not be used where there is a likelihood of the rope having to be lengthened at that end. Lengthening would bring at least part of the rope on which the wire-rope grip had been fastened into a position that is subject to full load. The danger is that this part of the rope may have been damaged by the effects of fatigue or by pressure exerted by the wire-rope grip. 10.5 Method of application The effectiveness of a wire-rope termination made with wire-rope grips depends upon ensuring the required number of wire-rope grips are used, and the spacing, orientation, placement and tightening of the grips are done in accordance with this Standard. For wire ropes of intermediate sizes, the next larger size of wire-rope grip shall be used. The number of wire-rope grips per connection shall be not less than the minimum specified in Table 1. If the manufacturer or supplier recommends a greater number of wire-rope grips per connection than the minimum specified in Table 1, this recommendation shall be followed. Grips with u-bolts shall be fitted to a wire rope as shown in Figure 1, but not as shown in Figure 2. The bridge shall be fitted on the working part of the rope and the u-bolt bearing on the tail end of the rope. Wire-rope grips shall not alternate in orientation on the rope. The wire-rope grips in a connection should be spaced along the wire rope at distances of approximately six rope diameters, with the position of the one nearest the end connection as shown in Figure 1 to be as close as possible to, but not less than one rope diameter from, the end fitting. Wire Rope Grips thimble is used (see Figure 1(b)), the distance between the round thimble and the first wire-rope grip should be not less than twice the diameter of the rope. The sequence of tightening an assembly of wire-rope grips on a wire-rope connection after they have been correctly positioned is from the thimble outwards. The tightening torque shall be achieved on greased bearing surfaces of the nuts. With improperly tightened nuts, or with fewer grips than the number recommended, the end of the rope might draw through the wirerope grips even due to a light loading. The wire-rope grips furthest from the eye of the thimble should not be overtightened as that position is the most vulnerable part of such an assembly. The tightening torque applied to the nuts shall comply with any instructions provided by the manufacturer or supplier; however, where instructions are not provided by the manufacturer or supplier, the tightening torque applied to the nuts shall be the relevant value that is listed in Table 1.

Shackles Grade S
A shackle is used for interconnecting components in lifting, tensioning and staying systems. A shackle consists of a body, a removable pin and a locking device (where applicable). Grade S Shackles generally comply with Australian Standard 2741 with approximately twice the working load limit of Grade M Shackles. All Bullivants shackles are destruction and proof load tested prior to sale in the Australian market.

Grade 100 Chain Sling Assemblies Bullivants Chain Slings provide various use for industrial and construction applications. These are temperature resistant, and strong enough to handle a wide array of loading conditions.
Features & Benefits: • Shortening Hooks are supplied with the chain sling allowing versatility in the length required for the lifting application • Supplied with 100% rated, Grade 100, grab hooks, self-locking hooks and Gunnebo chain • 25% stronger than Grade 80 allowing the chain size to reduce to lift the same job • High impact resistance and durability when compared to Grade 80 • High abrasion resistance Alloy Steel suitable for lifting objects with sharp edges which are known to damage other sling types • Very high chemical resistance for extended product life in harsh environments • Full working load capacity up to 200°C enables use in hot work environments (200-300ºC at 10% reduction in WLL & 300-400ºC at 25% reduction in WLL) • Reeved slings and basket slings in a two leg configuration have a maximum angle of 60° • Determination of the angle of the multi leg sling is the largest included angle at the apex of the configuration • Complies with AS 3775.2:2014 • Made in Australia

Tiger Corrosion Resistant Chain Block – SS12
Tiger SS12 Chain Block The SS12 is manufactured from the highest quality steel materials precisely machined in Tiger’s own factory, offering a lightweight, compact and rugged construction, producing an exceptionally strong product resistant to impact damage. The especially low headroom allows for easy installation in the most restricted environments. The unique design features including our patented Quad Cam Pawl System, along with the anti-corrosion properties incorporated in this range, give it significant safety advantages over standard chain blocks and make the SS12 chain block the ideal tool for salt water use with low maintenance and servicing costs. These units meet and exceed all the requirements within BS EN 13157: 2004+A1:2009, ANSI/ASME B30.16, AS1418.2 and SANS 1594. The SS12 is suitable for use in multi-immersion applications providing the timescales, pre-use testing, maintenance and service requirements as detailed in relevant Tiger documents are strictly adhered to. Our patented Quad Cam Pawl System guarantees permanent engagement of at least one of the two reciprocating cam pawls fitted to the SS12, ensuring the pawl only just clears the ratchet wheel, with the minimum of clearance as required under BS 4898:1973. But most importantly, in the unlikely event of a pawl spring failure, this design will ensure the brake is still fully functional and the load is sustained without damage to the mechanism. Key design features such as our patented brake pawls and deep pocket design hand wheel along with the full and comprehensive testing regime we have submitted our SS12 hoist to provide the evidence that allows us to state that these units can be safely used for “fleeting”, “drifting” and “cross-hauling” applications up to 45° from the vertical without deration. Tiger uses an 8 point multi start thread pinion shaft which has also increased brake reaction times.
Certification: Each unit comes fully certified with a test certificate or an EC Declaration of Conformity stating compliance with the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This document clearly states the proof test at 1.5 times the rated capacity and the light load test of 2% of the rated capacity, which exceeds the requirements of the current applicable standard.
Environmental Testing and Multi-Immersion: After successfully completing a series of independent third party verification and testing programmes to beyond established international standards, our latest being 3rd party multi-immersion tests at Catapult ORE in the UK, we can state that the SS12 range of chain blocks is suitable for use in multi-immersion applications providing the timescales, pre-use testing, maintenance and service requirements as detailed in Tiger document Multi-Immersion Instruction Manual are strictly adhered to. This takes our testing far beyond the requirements of ASTM B117 environmental conditions with the SS12 range having over 1300 hours continuous exposure to an industry generated test programme in a real life offshore and subsea environment. This ensures the performance of the SS12 has been fully challenged in natural environments similar to the conditions it will be exposed to.

Patent Protected Quad Cam Brake Pawl System: This patented development in brake efficiency guarantees permanent engagement of at least one of the two reciprocating cam pawls fitted to the SS12, ensuring the pawl only just clears the ratchet wheel, with the minimum of clearance as required under BS 4898:1973. But most importantly, in the unlikely event of a pawl spring failure, this new design will ensure the brake is still fully functional and the load is sustained without damage to the mechanism.
Brake Efficiency: Tiger uniquely uses an 8 point multi start thread pinion shaft which has measurably increased the efficiency in brake reaction times - up to 50% measurable difference compared with longitudinal 4 point pinion threads.
Chain End Stops: Will hold a load of at least 2.5 times the rated capacity when supporting the full load without restraint from other components e.g. brake or gearing as required in many international standards. This prevents accidents, by acting as a stop when the lift length of the load chain is exceeded when lowered.
Overload Protection: The SS12 chain block can be fitted with a slipping clutch overload mechanism to protect it from overload. When the load limit is exceeded, the clutch in the chain wheel will slip, allowing the handle to be operated whilst not engaging the gear box. This prevents further lifting of the load, though lowering is still possible. The SS12 with overload protection is DNV GL Verification tested according to NORSOK R-002.
Safety Brake: The highly efficient and fully corrosion protected brake system works instantly when the operation is stopped and securely holds the load. Loads are lowered under perfect control, allowing for precise operations. The SS12 easily passes the “brake lock out test” as per BS 3243:1990 with a 2% load of the rated capacity.
Marine Friction Discs: Developed and designed for Subsea use creating a highly efficient, reliable braking surface for use in the most extreme conditions.

Lifting at Angles: The SS12 range of chain blocks fitted with the patented protected Quad Cam Brake System has undergone a full and comprehensive testing regime that was drawn up by industry specialists and Tiger’s mechanical engineers to provide evidence that these units can be safely used for “fleeting”, “drifting” and “cross-hauling” applications up to 45° from the vertical without deration. Note: All such operations should be carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and fully risk assessed by a competent person. With a conventional twin pawl brake mechanism (teardrop design) failure can occur if the pawl spring erodes, fractures or a shock load bounces the pawls out of the ratchet gear. Without the spring these systems rely on gravity keeping the pawls engaged and are flawed when the hoist is used at angles away from the vertical.
Hand Wheel: For chain blocks to be used up to an angle of 45 degrees, it’s critical that the hand chain leaves and enters the hand wheel without twisting, snagging or jamming. Thanks to our specially designed deep-profile chain block hand wheel this is achievable as it helps to seat the chain no matter what angle or direction of pull.
Load Chain: Tiger only use the highest quality alloy, calibrated load chains in Grade V (Grade 100) conforming to EN818-7 and ISO 16872. These chains have been protected using OCP protection without any loss of mechanical performance. The SS12 comes as 3.0mtr HOL as standard but can be chained up to whatever length is required. Stainless steel load chain available on request for certain capacities – note Stainless Steel chain has a lower rating so will de-rate the hoist accordingly.
Chain Carriers: All our SS12 chain blocks are available with chain bags on request to fit the exact amount of chain specified. Designed to carry and hold the exact length of load chain required for the operation. Incorporating a stainless steel frame work and heavy duty PVC flexible bag reinforced by webbing with eyelet drain holes for an easy transfer through the splash zone. These chain bags prevent loose chain from getting snagged during lifting or lowering operations and protect any loose chain during transit to and from the operational site.

Double Cover Protection: Both the hand chain wheel cover and the ratchet brake cover are designed to offer protection to the brake chamber in the harshest environments from foreign objects.
Hooks: Our hooks incorporate our latest Patent Pending “EZ Check” feature which allows operators and inspection engineers to easily check to see if the hoist has been previously overloaded or shock loaded by simply measuring between the triangle of pop marks. Our drop forged and heat treated alloy hooks are furnished with heavy duty spring latch kits that fully engage into the recessed nose of the hook safeguarding the load when side loading of the latch occurs and offering maximum load security. The swivel hooks are attached to the yoke using high grade nuts & bolts allowing for complete inspection during any statutory inspection or written scheme maintenance. The entire hook fitting has been protected using OCP or stainless steel fixtures and fittings. Available with hooks that swivel under the full working load limit, to meet relevant standards i.e. AS 1418.2. Also available with spark resistant hooks.

Combination Trolley and Block The top hook can be re placed by an authorised person so the SS12 can be directly fitted to our beam trolley range of the equivalent capacity achieving the lowest possible headroom. Protection and Finish: Critical internal components as well as the load and hand chain are protected by our OCP (Organic Compound Protection) finish giving unprecedented long term reliability. Stainless steel fittings are used throughout the hoist. These ensure the initial capital outlay of purchasing the SS12 is protected by allowing the statutory inspections and re-certifications to be easier and also help with the overall aesthetics of the hoist being maintained in an “as new” condition. The SS12 is finished in our high quality white Akzo Nobel powder coat paint offering excellent additional corrosion protection and a high degree of impact protection. Hydraulic Hot Stab: Working in partnership with Forum Energy Technologies (formerly Perry Slingsby Systems Ltd) we have designed and built an ISO 13628-8 fig 20 Type A & B Dual Port Hub Stab Female receptacle that is protected by our full 316 Stainless Steel frame handle that has 4 built in connection points for the work class manipulators to hold and operate. This exclusively designed system makes for a well-balanced unit that sits perfectly when installing the unit within the project rigging. We use high quality dual direction check valves that prevents loss of the hydraulic fluid within the system when the hot stab is removed. These valves have a dual purpose as they ensure the minimal level of contamination to the system form sea water. We incorporate laser cut text for identification of hydraulic adjustments.

High Performance Marine Spec Hydraulic System
Rotary Torque Tool: The interface has been designed to meet the exact requirements of BS ISO 13628-8:2002. These units can be supplied in Classes 1+2 or class 3 giving maximum tooling flexibility whilst only requiring an operations torque of 5-Nm to lift 20 tonnes.
D Handle, T-Bar or Fishtail Manual Direct Drive: Using the same guard frame as the torque tool interface built from 316L Stainless Steel giving maximum protection, this option gives a very flexible operator-friendly interface by incorporating a high strength but flexible compliance joint making for a very positive and reliable direct drive mechanism.
Stainless Steel Frame Handle: All interface options come mounted in our purpose built high strength frames that ae constructed using 316L Stainless Steel bar and tubing, ensuring full compliance with BS ISO 13628-8:2002 (E) which gives the manipulators four T-bar connection positions to hold onto and these tie in with T slots found in parallel jaw manipulators. All welds are continuous and al edges sealed to prevent corrosion. Frames have laser cut text for identification of hydraulic adjustments. Frames are painted RAL 20002 orange as per ISO 13628-1 to signify ROV grab point.
Subsea Brake: Developed and designed for Subsea use creating a highly efficient, reliable braking surface for use in the most extreme conditions.
Optional Chain Bags: Designed to carry and hold the exact length of load chain required for the operation. Incorporating a stainless steel frame work and heavy duty PVC flexible bag reinforced by webbing with eyelet drain holes for an easy transfer through the splash zone. These chain bags prevent loose chain from getting snagged during lifting or lowering operations and protect any loose chain during transit to and from the operational site.

Tiger ROV Chain Block – RCB User Manual/Certification: There is an accompanying user manual which includes a test certificate or an EC Declaration of Conformity stating compliance with the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This document clearly states the proof test for the unit at 1.5 times the rated capacity on the 3.0t, 10.0t and 15.0t models and 1.25 times (25.0t) for the 20.0t model and the light load test of 2% of the rated capacity across the full range, which exceeds the requirements of the current applicable standard. Chain certification is included as part of this documentation.

Adaptor Components: Available with drop forged adaptor fittings for maximum safety.
Combination Trolley and Block: The top hook can be fitted with an adaptor allowing the TCB to be attached directly to a Tiger beam trolley to achieve the lowest possible headroom.
Patent Protected Quad Cam Brake Pawl System: This patented development in brake efficiency guarantees permanent engagement of at least one of the two reciprocating cam pawls fitted to the TCB. In the unlikely event of a pawl spring failure, this design will ensure the brake is still fully functional and the load is sustained without damage to the mechanism.
Overload Protection: If the chain block is fitted with a slipping clutch overload mechanism, then it is protected from overload. When the load limit is exceeded, the clutch in the chain wheel will slip, allowing the hand wheel to be rotated whilst not engaging the gear box.
Brake Efficiency: Tiger uniquely uses an 8 point multi start thread pinion shaft which has measurably increased the efficiency in brake reaction times - up to 50% measurable difference compared with longitudinal 4 point pinion threads.
Chain End Stops: Will hold a load of at least 2.5 times the rated capacity.

Tiger Chain Block – TCB14 Safety Brake: The highly efficient and fully corrosion protected brake system works instantly when the operation is stopped and securely holds the load. Loads are lowered under perfect control, allowing for precise operations. Double Cover Protection: Both the hand chain wheel cover and the ratchet brake cover are designed to offer protection to the brake chamber in the harshest environments from foreign objects. Mechanical Efficiency: All major components are heat treated and precisely machined to ensure long term smooth operation. High gear ratios keep physical effort to a minimum. Lifting at Angles: The TCB range of chain blocks fitted with the patented protected Quad Cam Brake System allowing these units to be safely used for “fleeting”, “drifting” and “cross-hauling” applications up to 45° from the vertical without reduction in WLL.

Tiger TLH Heavy Duty Lever Hoists Lightweight, compact and rugged construction with the handle, gear case and brake cover made entirely of pressed steel, producing strong resistance to impact damage. Using only the highest quality materials precisely machined throughout ensures the TLH is the ideal hoist for long term use with less maintenance and servicing costs. These units meet and exceed all the requirements within BS EN 13157: 2004+A1:2009, ANSI/ASME B30.21, AS1418.2 and SANS 1636.
Certification: Each unit comes fully certified with a test certificate or an EC Declaration of Conformity stating compliance with the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Safety Brake: The highly efficient twin pawl brake, works instantly when the operation is stopped and securely holds the load. Designed and 100% tested to hold a 5% load of the rated capacity. The bonded friction discs are free of asbestos and achieve highly efficient braking.
Load Chains: Tiger only use the highest quality alloy, calibrated load chains in Grade V.
Grease: High performance premium quality grease allows the TLH hoists to be certified for use within a temperature range of -40°C to +50°C far exceeding the requirements of current standards.
Mechanical Efficiency: All major components are heat treated and precisely machined to ensure long term smooth operation. High gear ratios keep physical effort to a minimum.

Tiger SS11 Subsea Lever Hoist The SS11 has been designed and developed over a number of years for use primarily in subsea, offshore or corrosive environments. The unique design features - including the one piece construction pinion gears and patented Quad Cam Pawl System, along with the anti-corrosion properties incorporated in this range, give it significant safety advantages over standard lever hoists. This makes the SS11 subsea lever hoist the ideal tool for all marine and extreme applications. Developed initially with the goal of giving key stakeholders within the Oil and Gas Industry a hoist that could be certified for safe use subsea whilst meeting all the requirements of IMCA DO28 Rev. 1 “Guidance notes for offshore lever hoists”, the SS11 meets and exceeds these requirements, as well as other industry client specifications whilst conforming to standards such as BS EN 13157: 2004+A1:2009, ANSI/ASME B30.212005, AS1418.2 and SANS 1636. The SS11 is suitable for use in multi-immersion applications providing the timescales, pre-use testing, maintenance and service requirements as detailed in relevant Tiger documents are strictly adhered to. Our patented Quad Cam Pawl System guarantees permanent engagement of at least one of the two reciprocating cam pawls fitted to the SS11, ensuring the pawl only just clears the ratchet wheel, with the minimum of clearance as required under BS 4898:1973. But most importantly, in the unlikely event of a pawl spring failure, this design will ensure the brake is still fully functional and the load is sustained without damage to the mechanism. This model includes our unique rotational inertia driven torsion switch brake and freewheeling system. This brake system was designed by our research and design team to counter known failure modes in commonly used and copied longitudinal “push-pull” mechanisms or traditional style “Weston” type brake systems used on alternative lever hoists. This Tiger brake system is now a proven design with many thousands of hours of empirical evidence as proof of design and efficiency. This design removes the need for inefficient old style longitudinal disengagement methods of pulling the brake system apart to facilitate freewheeling. This highly efficient method of operating is not only safer but easier for the operator whilst measurably increasing the brake take up efficiency rate. Tiger uses an 8 point multi start thread pinion shaft which has also increased brake reaction times. The rotational engagement of the brake works with the direction of the load sheave creating highly efficient braking ratios - up to 50% measurable difference compared with longitudinal push-pull brake systems. Overload Protection: The SS11 lever hoist can be fitted with a slipping clutch overload mechanism to protect it from overload. When the load limit is exceeded, the clutch in the chain wheel will slip, allowing the handle to be operated whilst not engaging the gear box. This prevents further lifting of the load, though lowering is still possible. The SS11 with overload protection is DNV GL Verification tested according to NORSOK R-002.

Hooks: Our hooks incorporate our latest Patent Pending “EZ Check” feature which allows operators and inspection engineers to easily check to see if the hoist has been previously overloaded or shock loaded by simply measuring between the triangle of pop marks. Our drop forged and heat treated alloy hooks are furnished with heavy duty spring latch kits that fully engage into the recessed nose of the hook safeguarding the load when side loading of the latch occurs and offering maximum load security. The swivel hooks are attached to the yoke using high grade nuts & bolts allowing for complete inspection during any statutory inspection or written scheme maintenance. The entire hook fitting has been protected using OCP or stainless steel fixtures and fittings. Available with hooks that swivel under the full working load limit, to meet relevant standards i.e. AS 1418.2. Also available with spark resistant hooks.
Brake Chamber Protection: Precisely engineered side plates and components protected by a full gasket give the SS11 brake chamber and contents maximum protection from external contamination.
Load Chains: Tiger only use the highest quality alloy, calibrated load chains in Grade T or VH conforming to EN818-7 and ISO 16872. The SS11 comes as 3.0mtr HOL as standard but can be chained up to whatever length is required. Stainless steel load chain available on request for certain capacities.
Protection and Finish: Critical internal components are protected by our OCP (Organic Compound Protection) finish giving unprecedented long term reliability. Stainless steel fittings are used throughout the hoist. These ensure the initial capital outlay of purchasing the SS11 is protected by allowing the statutory inspections and recertifications to be easier and also help with the overall aesthetics of the hoist being maintained in an “as new” condition. The SS11 is finished in our high quality white Akzo Nobel powder coat paint offering excellent additional corrosion protection and a high degree of impact protection.

Handle: The SS11 handle which interfaces with the operator is ergonomically designed for efficiency and ease of use and reduces the likelihood of a gloved hand from slipping off the end of the handle. It also helps prevent the use of unauthorised extension/cheater bars that could facilitate an overload on a non-overload protected SS11. Forgings: Recessed hook yoke forgings offer full protection to the load chain anchor bolts on all our bottom hooks.
Chain End Anchorage: Tiger have incorporated the ultimate safeguarding of a single point failure mode as described in IMCA DO28 Rev. 1 Note 7.2 by installing a specially designed adjustable chain end stop. Tiger have specifically profiled and manufactured this item to fit the contours of the hoist. This offers complete assurance to the operator, whilst maintaining the flexibility of “freewheeling” the chain to any required starting position.

With this system a quick check that the A and B measurements are the same (as shown in the diagram opposite) will indicate if the hooks have stretched if A≦B the hook is fine; If A>B the hook needs to be replaced.

Tiger Industrial Air Hoist Home of the Tiger hoisting and winching range Tiger industrial air hoists are designed specifically for industrial and general engineering applications such as automotive plants, foundries, heat treatment plants, zinc refineries and acid battery manufacturing facilities. The hoists operate at air pressures of between 4 and 6 bar. They comply with the requirements of SANS 1638, AMSE B30.16 and EN14492-2. The manufacturing facility producing the hoists is ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 certified.

Range – 0.25 tonne to 20 tonne

Reliable, fast, efficient, quiet and lightweight
•
Greater than 5:1 factor of safety
Load Limiter Integral load limiter which automatically prevents the operator lifting a load of more than 130% of the working load limit. Load limiter is 100% repeatable at all working pressures and does not wear or generate damaging heat.
Emergency Stop All hoists can be supplied with an emergency stop device as an option. This shuts off the main air supply to the hoist when activated. Resetting the device will not automatically restart the hoisting operation.
Precise Control Accurate and precise positioning of loads is standard for both toggle and pendent control models.
Fail Safe Disc Brake Non-asbestos self-adjusting disc brake is applied automatically when the air supply to the hoist is shut off. The brake is self-adjusting for the life of the brake and can hold off more than 125% of the working load limit.
Integral Silencer The exhaust air silencer is built into the hoist gearbox housing and limits the noise level to 83dB(A).

Tiger Industrial Air Hoist Load Chain Grade 8 load chain ensures stringent high-speed duty cycles can be met. The load chain is in accordance with the requirements of SANS/ISO 3077 and EN818-7 Appendix B.
Vane Motor Assisted vane lifting ensures maximum starting torque when starting under load.
Sealed Gearbox The sealed planetary gearbox ensures that the most stringent duty cycles can be met. The gears are heat treated and mounted on high strength, low friction bearings
Ease of Maintenance The modular design of the hoist allows easy access to internal components such as the motor, gearbox, brake and load limiter. Common parts are used throughout the range. Tiger Bulb Clamps Tiger Bulb Clamps are designed for attaching to bulb profiles of bulb flat bars which are often found in ship compartments, engine rooms and overhead bridge deck structures. The bulb clamp provides a semipermanent lifting point. The large integrated shackle gives easy 1.5t
connection for all different types of lifting machines.

Tiger Air Winches WAR-I Series 500 to 3000kg Versatile Air Winches Tiger WAR-I series air winches are designed specifically for mining, construction, marine and general engineering applications. The compact design of the winches allows them to be installed quickly where required in any orientation. The winches have a factor of safety in excess of 5 at the rated load. Extended drum versions are available for increased rope capacity. They comply with the requirements of ASME B30.7. The manufacturing facility producing the winches is ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 certified.
Main Features: Load Limiter Integral load limiter which automatically prevents overloading of the winch. Load limiter is 100% repeatable at all working pressures and does not wear or generate damaging heat Emergency Stop Winches can be supplied with an emergency stop device as an option. This shuts off the main air supply to the winch when activated. Precise Control Lever control and pilot pendent control offer variable speed control. Accurate and precise positioning of loads is standard for all models. Integral Silencer The exhaust air silencer is built into the winch frame and limits the noise level to 80dB(A).

Tiger Air Winches WAR-I Series 500 to 3000kg Fail Safe Disc Brake Non-asbestos self adjusting disc brake is applied automatically when the air supply to the winch is shut off. The brake is self adjusting for the life of the brake and is capable of holding in excess of 125% of the working load limit. Vane Motor Assisted vane lifting ensures maximum starting torque when starting under load. Sealed Gearbox The sealed planetary gearbox ensures that the most stringent duty cycles can be met. The gears are heat treated and mounted on high strength, low friction bearings. Ease of Maintenance The modular design of the winch allows easy access to internal components such as the motor, gearbox, brake, load limiter and drum assembly. Noiseless 1200lb Model: This model is equipped with a unique quiet brake design that is virtually silent and fully automatic. Best suited to those locations where quiet is required, such as schools, hospitals, caravans and theatres.
Corrosion Protection Option: This model is protected by our unique coating – OCP (Organic Compound Protection). The uniqueness of this coating gives unprecedented long term reliability and superior corrosion resistance and protection in the most severe conditions. The OCP coating provides excellent friction protection and has been proven to be effective through at least 1000 hours of the ASTM B 117 Salt Spray Test. The coating gives the properties of stainless steel without the cost implications.

AmSteel® Blue Soft Shackle Bullivants soft shackles are made from AmSteel® Blue 12-strand single braid rope. Provides maximum strength-to-weight ratio, and size-for-size strength against Grade S shackles. With a lightweight connection method and ease of use, this can replace steel shackles or other connection types for recovery and towing operations. Material will not corrode or rust and has short connection lengths.

Select the correct soft shackle and inspect the working load limit tags to ensure traceability
Slide the loose leg on soft eye until it opens wide enough to accept the knot end
Insert the knot end into the loop
Feed the knot end all the way through the loop end until clear. This forms the shackle.
Grasp the loose end of the shackle body with your left hand and milk / squeeze the outside of the soft shackle away from the knot end.
Continue to milk/squeeze the outside until the soft closes down around the base of the knot. May need to repeat the process until tight.
The soft shackle is now ready for use.

Tiger Webbing Puller - WS
Tiger Webbing Pullers are designed for use in hot line applications. They are lightweight and incorporate a webbing strap and lever handle. When clean and dry, the polyester webbing strap provides insulating properties. Along with the Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) insulated handle this increases electrical safety when tensioning conductors and similar tasks. It also has a load holding function in both forward and reverse modes which are selected by a single click of the ratchet tab. The handle can rotate 360° to allow the most efficient use of the ratchet at any angle. Not to be used for lifting. Not to be used for supporting people. Ratchet Tie-Down Technical Data: To maintain the friction force during transportation the load must be tensioned correctly and always remain in contact with the vehicle. The tension applied to the load is impacted by the angle at which the lashing is applied. The greater the angle, the less the clamping force. The clamping force is very small when the lashing is near horizontal and more lashings may be required. For example, a single strap at 90 degrees is equivalent to four straps at 15 degrees. The type of surface the load sits on may also impact the tension – a slippery surface provides less friction; however, rubber or other friction surfaces can reduce.

Modular Spreader Beams Bullivants Modular Spreader Beams are an ideal solution for general and specialised lifting applications. Bullivants’ range of Modular Spreader Beams extends from 2t capacity up to 400t capacity from stock and are available up to 1000t capacity on an indent basis. The Modular Design Each modular spreader beam consists of two end units, two drop links and a set of interchangeable struts to allow the length of the spreader beam to be changed to suit each application. For the shortest length, two end units can be bolted together directly.
