Master mason and timber framer Clay Chapman believes fine arts is paramount to making significant architecture a reality. Lecture includes a glimpse at the documentary, “Hope for Architecture” which concerns affordable permanence in new construction architecture.

Sustainability Lessons - HGTV 2013 Dream Home  The 2013 HGTV Dream Home is a model for sustainability with its Platinum LEED. Eco-friendly construction materials and building practices, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, water conservation and geothermal heating and cooling contributed to the home’s certification, but most importantly, was the way the team took a whole house approach which thought globally but acted locally.

The Beauty of the Carved Acanthus Leaf: The history of the acanthus leaf motif in architectural design and decoration will be presented along with a demonstration on carving an acanthus leaf in wood.
