The redwood comes from northern California," Oz continues, "they need fog, and the Douglas fir comes from Oregon. Virgin timber." All this information is ingrained in Oz and the words flow.

There is a shed with a lumber planer and another shed where lumber is cut to size.

There is a shed with moldings. Some moldings as tall as trees stand up in racks and some lie on their side. There is sanded plywood and plasterboard. The hardware store. a new addition at Interbay, was set up by Floyd Linton, the yard superintendent.

At coffee break time lift trucks rest and all is quiet for a few minutes as the employees of Interbay, a union shop, get their morning break.

Interbay Lumber Co. is open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Interbay is a no flash resident serving Sausalito business. "Our business tends toward do it vourselfers and alteration contractbrs."

Oz says.

Are there many women customers Oz is asked.

"I'd like to say yes," he hesitates, "but no."

Interbay Lumber Co. is offering $300 worth of lumber for the nex'[ KQED (San Francisco Educational TV Channel) auction. They gave the lumber for the slide at a nearbv school and gave 2 x 12 redwood to Sequoia Challenge to be used as handrails for their trail through the woods for the disabled and blind.

Oz looks forward to a time to explore his creative side and take an extended vacation.

The relatively high home building activity in the Pacific Northwest has attracted many builders from other areas, and some are unethical, financially irresponsible and shaky. It's more important than ever to thoroughlY check the credit background of new builder customers.

In this day of rules and regulations from both the federal and state governments, employers become confused as to what posters are required to be posted in their places of business. To eliminate this confusion we are listing those posters required by law: o Minimum wage-overtime-equal pay: A poster entitled "Notice to Employees" is required of all employers under the fair labor standards act. o Age discrimination in employment: "PerSons 40-65 Years NOTE" poster is required of all private employers with 20 or more employees in industry or serving industry affecting interstate commerce. o Handicapped: "Handicapped, You Have Job Rights" is a new requirement for employers with a federal contract in excess of $2,500. o Federally financed construction: The poster "Notice to Employees

. Government contracts: "Notice to Employees Working on Government Contracts" must be posted in any establishment performing government contract work subject to the service contract act or the public contracts act.
