In l95l when Oz got out of the Korean War. he worked with Christian Lumber Co. in San Francisco for 12 years, as lumber handler. lumber clerk and yard foreman.
A man of roots, Oz stayed with lumber, stayed in the Bay Area, and worked 6 years with Indian Valley Lumber Co. in Corta Madera. Ca. (the company no longer exists).
This October Oz marks his l2th anniversary as manager of Interbay Lumber Co. It was started in 1959.

They are E.S.T. graduates as are their three children, and are also involved with self hypnosis, T.A. (Transactional Analysis)and T.M. (Transcendent al Meditation). Oz feels his "life iust turned aroLrnd" as a result of these involvements.
Oz bursts with enthusiasms: on this day he is a very jolly fellow. "The biggest thing in my life in the last three weeks is, I joined Marathons. In three weeks I'm standing straighter. I love it! I love it!"
The phone rings, sometimes it's for Oz, sometimes it isn't. Marge, the secretary who shares the oflice with Oz continues her work.
"I'm into The Hunger Project too," says Oz, continuing on the subject of positivism and the

human potential movement. On the 14th day of each month the family fasts, sends the unused food money for that day to The Hunger Project. The project hopes to end starvation in the world within 20 years.
We tour the yards and the sheds. Interbay Lumber is an orderly place. There are no cluttered corners and uncared for areas. There is a feeling of order and space all around the yard, indoors and outdoors.
The kiln dried lumber is in the sheds neatly lined up, and framing lumber and green lumber, is outdoors.
"I have a quality yard," says Oz without hesitation. "Quality and service make up Interbay. My people are nice too."
