Choral Society Auditions. Auditions for singers interested in participating in the Downers Grove Choral Society concert, Love’s Sweet Songs available prior to November 29, 2010. Grove Players presenting “Oliver!” Grove Players opens their 2010-2011 season with family favorite musical, “Oliver!” with book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart. Based on the classic “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens, the show is directed by Cynthia Katz, musical directed by Jack Davis and choreographed by Mariellen Basalone. ONGOING Thank you cards. The Woodridge Junior Woman’s Club is honoring veterans by collecting cards and notes from the community thanking them for their sacrifice. Cards, notes and letters may be dropped off at the Woodridge Library thru Friday Nov. 12. These gifts of the heart will be delivered to two medical clinics serving DuPage County veterans as well as the Darien-Woodridge Fire Department for their Operation Support the Troops project to be sent to those serving overseas. Anniversary all day. Noon. The Two Way Street Coffee House, located in the First Congregational Church on Curtiss St., is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Since the 70s when coffee houses were in fashion, a determined group of folk music singers and fans have kept this coffee house alive. Starting at noon, the church will be filled with music, square dancing, jam sessions, ending with an evening concert.

Diabetes awareness day. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Meijer will be presenting an in-store healthy living event at all store locations. In support of the cause, each Meijer location will feature a sampling demonstration of diabetic friendly food.
